Installed Easily

The installation was quite easy and the communication connection seems standard. I hope these don't start beeping when they expire like my former smoke alarms.

Horrible Product

Wouldn't recommend to my worst enemy. I followed their useless steps to try and stop the chirping after putting in FRESH batteries (I tried multiple different batteries just to be safe) and still it's chirping. I'm in tears from the pain, I can't get this horrible thing to stop, and their support is closed until tomorrow morning. I'm ready to rip this thing out of the wall. I am absolutely furious.

Works great, easy to install

Very easy to install to replace older non-functioning unit. Looks nice, low profile, doesn't beep with cooking or wood stove fumes.

Bad GP batteries pre installed in detectors

It took too long to receive my mail order so I found a Lowes store that had it in stock. Only a week later the four detectors went off so I called the fire department. Fireman found the cause of the alarm an unheard of brand GP power cell battery that was almost out of date inserted in each of the four detectors! Fireman told me always make sure a more expensive battery like energizer is put in the new detectors to avoid false alarms!

5 out of 6 malfunctioned within 2 years

Within 2 years, 5 out of the 6 detectors started making 3 chirps at random times. I called First Alert 3 separate times about the issue and was told that the chirps indicate malfunction, but unless they heard the chirps while on the phone with me they could not replace the units under warranty. I asked how it would be possible for them to hear the chirps that happen completely randomly while on the phone and they had no answer. I never used them

I actually intend on returning because I thought they were the battery operated not the hard wired. I’m sure they will work great for someone that wants the wired. I hope they work great anyway.
