Would Not RecommendInstalled the unit and it was defective out of the box .For a device that we are entrusting our safety with, the quality is very low. How could you ever trust this to work in a emergency event. There should be some type of regulatory body overseeing this.

Would RecommendWe had a mix of First Alert and Kidde, and the Smoke/CO models had come to the end of the 10 year life, plus we wanted to try the 10 built-in battery models. So we bought all first Alert and install couldn't have been easier. Most just attached to the old wiring and mount, where First Alert was previously used.
