good product

I purchased this very same model (Powershred 79Ci) in 2011 and it held until August-2025 when finally the selector switch (for on and forward/reverse running the shredder wheel) quit working -- and the cutting wheels also were becoming dull. I was very happy with the 79Ci and therefore purchased the replacement. I can highly recommend this cross cut shredder.

Excellent Product

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased this shredder to replace a Fellowes shredder that I had for over 20 years. She died! I looked at what was available online, but I truly believed nothing is better than a Fellowes. My last shredder proved that. I read reviews to do a comparison of a variety of shredders, but again, nothing beats a Fellowes. Thank you for continuing in making an Excellent Product!!

Finally, a great shredder with good capacity

I have tried multiple shredders with no success.. This shredder has good capacity and able to do cards, paper clips c/d/rom disks etc. i seldom have had to stop for a cool down period. Easy to empty. Very happy.

I am a repeat customer

I purchased this model 7 years ago and shred tons of paper and sensitive documents in my CPA practice. I purchased the same unit since it performed so well over the years.

Quite quiet

I cannot address durability or warranty as I've only had it a month. It is very quiet compared to my 15 year old shredder that died. Shred size is not NOT secure, you can read complete 16 digit account numbers, full names and other supposedly secure data. The bin size is also rather small but that is manageable.

Best Shredder I've Ever Purchased

First piece of home office equipment I've ever had that doesn't have any "Cons"...just all "Pros." Quiet, efficient operation, excellent safety "Stop" feature, handles all my junk mail, card brochures/pamphlets, safely stores shredded material in a plastic bag easily accessible by pulling out bin from the front, no worry about removing staples or paper clips, modern style, fits perfectly under my desk. Highly recommend to others.

Extremely Quiet

My old Fellowes that I had for 20 plus years finally gave out. Purchased this one and it was well worth it. Very quiet and works as advertised.

Shreds great.

It shreds great. I think the bin underneath could stand to be a bit larger. I had some trouble getting the bin to lock in. If you don't get it all the way in you will not be able to shred.

Excellent shredder

This is my second Fellowes Shredder. The first one lasted more than 10 years, far exceeding my expectations. Without exaggerating, it probably shredded more than 55 boxes of paper and other miscellaneous documents over its lifetime. Fellowes shredders are very reliable and cost-effective. Would choose no other!

So Far So Good

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Happy with the safety features for this shredder, I don't have to worry about one of my kids (3 under 3) messing with it. It's also very quiet and we can now shred at night without worrying about waking up half the house. I haven't shredded a ton of items, but definitely looking forward to never dealing with paper jams again.

2nd 79ci

This is my second 79ci. My first one lasted 13 years. This one is even better with improved features. No need to turn on and very quiet. Very pleased with it.

Huge Improvement From My Previous Shredder

I purchased this shredder because I got tired of how my previous Insignia shredder would jam even when trying to shred less than it was rated for. The Fellowes 79Ci is much more powerful than my previous shredder and will even tell me if I am trying shred too much at once before it has a chance to jam It can also stop and back up really thick stuff automatically to continue shredding without me having to do a thing. Powershred 79CI

Purchased a Powershred PS14CI a number of years ago and after probably a ton of paper the unit finally gave out. Moved out of state and after getting set up purchased the Powershred 79CI. I believe that this is a new and improved version of my previous shredder. Quite operation, pull out collection bin, handles up to 16 pages at a time and shred size is roughly 5/32" x 1.5" of crosscut paper. Can't praise this item enough.

Have same shredder at work for 4yrs and counting. No problems..which is why I bought this one for my house.
