Love these! I have tried many different screws, these are the first I could use without pre-drilling.

Fantastic performance

These fasteners are excellent for outdoor structural applications. The star bit provides incredible gripping power well beyond a phillips head or a traditional star bit. I used these to affix a 2x12 pressure-treated rim joist to 6x6 posts for a covered porch. The grip is excellent even in some of the older joists that were re-purposed, likewise the flat head of the screw looks great and compliments any project.

Not enough flighting.

This product has good points and bad points. The good is the nice flat head that doesn't bulge out of the wood. The bad is that the "flighting" is not wide enough. You cannot counter sink these screws, they just spin.

Great screws for landscape timbers

I recently had to rebuild my wife's raised bed flower garden. Using these screws with an impact driver, it went together rather quickly. I like that the bit for these screws was included in the box. The only minor annoyance was that the bit wouldn't stay in the drill, but that is more the drills fault. Self started very easily.

Log cabin repair.

Used these screws to replace bad cedar logs on a 55 year old cedar log cabin. These screws were excellent in drawing the logs in tight to the subwall. Other 6 inch screws had too much threads on the shaft and would not draw the log in tight if it was not tight to the wall when the screw was applied. The 2 inches of threads on the end allow the screw to be thread free as it passed through the cedar log, letting screw pull the log in tight to the wall. Strong and solid

A great many of these were used to secure pressure-treated 4x4 timbers for low landscape walls. The lumber pieces seem very well-attached and no amount of soil or mulch will separate them. The large flat head counter sinks on its own (with enough torque from the driver) for a beautiful flat surface. I highly recommend at least a minimal amount of pre-drilling to lessen splitting risk.

Wrong driver...

So, it turns out that the driver enclosed in the box won't drive the fasteners... As you can see from the picture, this is a six is not eight issue. Screws look awesome, just can not use them without the driver...

Excellent Structural Screw!!

Used these structural screws when building 3 sets of wooden shelves for our churches food pantry. These new heavy duty screws are excellent in their holding power. Used them to hold the shelves together since they would be holding hundreds of pounds of cased can goods and bags of rice, etc. The original metal shelves couldn't handle the weight, but these new shelves can more than handle the weight.

Pricey but handy

I've used these for many different projects outdoors connecting 4x4 timbers together. They are fast and easy to use, and nearly countersink themselves.

These are great. I think I had 2 bad ones but, all in all they work great. I do recommend pre-drilling, I had a 4x4 split on me.

great product

I used the product to attach purlins to the roof rafters of a 150 year old barn in preparation for metal roofing. The product was able to reach thru the old roof and give me a good attachment to the rafters.
