Easy to use. Doesn't split wood.
Haven't had to predrill holes. So far none the screws have not cracked one stud. I used them to mount heavy duty shelves and so far no issues.

Connecting 4x4 side by side - no muss, no fuss
Would RecommendI needed to connect three 4"x4" pressure treated posts side by side. All I needed to do is align the posts and screw in. I first aligned 2 posts and screwed in from one side, then added the 3rd post, Screwed in from the other side. Although I didn't have to, drilled a 3/16" pilot hole through the outer post. I was able to screw them in with heads flush to the posts. These posts will not warp or twist. No splitting of wood. I plan to use these screws in more projects. Easy peasy.
The screws worked well to secure landscaping timbers for 3 beds. I would use them again, if needed.

These are aweful
Would Not RecommendThe head WILL strip if you dont drill a pilot hole. 65% of thr ones i had were bent so that the head travelled in circles around the shaft. I had to back out 6 of them with vice grips due to issues. And the included bit does not seat well to the screw head

They rust
Would Not RecommendI did a lengthy study of code and construction while rehabbing a detached garage into a major man cave. I was very disappointed to see them corrode. Backing some out of treated lumber (rather wet treated lumber) I found many screw threads corroded. I also used other FastenMaster screws for ceiling rafters, and those hex heads corroded. I am within 1000 feet of salt water on the East coast oceanfront, but inland from the ocean.
