Eaton 3-Way White Ceiling Socket

Seems pretty sturdy, only issue, in replacing original ceramic fixture, was the old had four wire junction connections and the new only two, so I had to twist wires together with pigtail, to make it work, which it has.

First, the way the wiring is set up, as soon as you try to fasten it to the box, the ground will cross contact one of the terminals. Second the plastic is crap. I broke it just trying to screw it into the box. The screws that came with it are too big for standart new work carlton ceiling boxes. Just get the prorcelain. Its worked for 80 years now... save yourself the grief.

Utilitarian

It’s great to replace an old ceiling light outlet with one that has a 120 w outlet in it. Adds utility. Was able to add a bank of led ceiling lights to this outlet and now control the lighting from one switch. Ethan’s there is a better way to install this to a narrower ceiling electrical box without having to break away the ceramic over these mounting holes. This is messy and you could get chips in your eye on installation if not done thoroughly

It is perfect for my purpose of adding one 4’ LED plug-in fixture as a ceiling light source to the original single bulb wall fixture in the small work space.

I installed this in my attic to add a light and the outlet.

Lightweight plastic

The Eaton 3-way ceiling socket serves it's purpose but is very lightweight plastic and is easy to crack, you have to be careful not to over tighten the mounting screws. I accidentally dropped one fixture and a piece broke out of it, i was still able to use it but it should not have broken so easily, I also found that the mounting screws were very soft and i easily striped the head out with my screw gun. I had to use different screws to mount the fixture. I will look for something more heavy dut...

Eaton 3-Way White Ceiling Socket did the trick!

The original ceramic ceiling socket I had broke when it got hit on accident. I couldn't find another ceramic model. I'm guess they quit making them for this reason! Anyway! I had my doubts about buying a plastic model but upon installation it works just like the ceramic model! Thanks for having one in stock!

Okay quality

A bit cheep. Breaks easily if you overtighten the screws, but it does work.

The worst

Probably the worst light I have ever put in they are just trash they all broke when I was trying to install them what a complete waste of time and money

Dangerous inferior product

LIke the other Eaton products at Lowe’s, this is an exceptionally inferior product. One screw stripped screwing into plastic and the geads dont fit a standard screwdriver. The switch/plug assembly is made of such thin material that it bends dangerously when you try to tighten the connection or try to push a plug into the receptacle. No idea how it got a UL stamp.

Somewhat disappointed

It worked well enough but the mounting hole surface was very brittle and delicate. It cracked right off and I ended up having to “rebuild” the mounting slots.
