Why Did I wait So Long?

Works great. Note this model XP only does 118 degree points but that seems OK because you can still split the point. It will sharpen 135 points but sharpens them to 118. There is a minor learning curve. Watch Drill Doctor's youtube video on their website. The critical step is aligning the bit in the chuck. Once you get the alignment correct you can sharpen the bit with your eyes closed. Forget the manual that comes with it. You will never figure out how to use this with only the manual. The vide...

Good tool -- should've bought one sooner!

Easy to use, but it helped to watch one or two online videos first. It does a much better job of sharpening drill bits than my previous method of restoring dull bits. I got so caught up in sharpening that I emptied out a bag of about 50 dull bits and had them all sharp again in less than an hour. I'm done buying drill bits for awhile! However, there is a size limit that this sharpener is able to accommodate (small and large), so be mindful of that.

It's not all that great... Any Drill Bit that for Metal that goes through that Machine is basically turned into a Wood Bit.

At first I was a little concerned that it would be confusing or difficult to use but now I'm just upset I didn't get one sooner. I'm now able to use several bits that were as good as junk.

It's ok to sharpen boys for use on wood

Does not seem to sharpen bit good enough for use on drilling steel...

Great Tool!

I had been meaning to get a drill bit sharpener for years; my wife finally gave me this one for my birthday. The Drill Doctor XPK was worth the wait! While the process is not simple (read the instructions!) the results are spectacular: razor sharp drill bits with the correct chisel point and relief angles in just a few minutes. Looking forward to sharpening a few masonry bits for the next Tapcon job, too!

This will pay for itself.

I love this thing. I have a toolbox drawer full of dull drill bit that are now being sharpened. That will pay for this as I will not need to buy drill bits for a while now.

Worth the investment.

Great twisted drill bit sharpener. Follow the instructions explicitly. For years I've just set aside or thrown away dull drill bits. I'm half way through restoring them and the sharpener has paid for itself. This model is being discounted and replaced with an upgraded version.

A FANTASTIC money saver when Cobalt bits are used.

I have wanted one and even high end CNC shops will have one for small stuff in their shops and smaller runs. As soon as I returned home after saving 20%, read the instructions, and started to sharpen, With every bit sharpened I heard CHA-CHING as the registered told me I had save another $5- $8 for cobalt bits. In 2 hours I had saved about $300 in sharpening a lot of 3/8" cobalt bits

This is the best tool in my shop.
