Sad thing is that with a little more design effort, it would have worked. I have used Dremel tools for years, and am disappointed that this thing is so badly designed. I understand this is not a heavy duty item that a professional in the construction or woodworking industry would use, but that does not mean that it should not be functional for light use. A little stiff, and good for flat surfaces

You have to use a fair amount of force to get the router to “plunge”, otherwise you can set the depth and lock it in. If you have a flat surface it’s fine, but an uneven surface it’s not practical

Held its own against larger plunge router

Some setup issues but slow and steady

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] First things first the instructions could be a bit clearer when your setting it up... remember less is more and the manual should reflect a clear setup then use of the product. And some lube to the rails as they tend to stick when plunging down or returning up. I cut some letters out of plex glass with a small bit and it worked well but as with anything you do test it out on some scrap.... So the deal is, you need a cutter with very little wear...

I used the plunge router guide to cut out door hinges. As I moved it across the edge of the door it would drop and cut deeper. There was no way to support it over the 3 1/2 inch cut.
