Worth the price - don't buy the knock-off

My shower needed a new cartridge after 15 years. The first one I bought was the generic one, and it lasted less than 2 months before it broke. Installing this cartridge was easy, as was adjusting the maximum hot water temperature. The cartridge fits in tightly, but not so tight that you have to struggle to insert it. This one costs twice as much as the knock-off, but considering that the knock-off lasted less than 2 months for me, it was a waste. Just buy this one the first time.

Exact fit for a Delta 13/1400 series. Home built in 1995

You need to have some mechanical skills.

Came with instructions, although very small print. But it did fix my hot water leak in the shower. Happy!

Much Better

This fits our 2005 Delta 1400 Series (you can see the name written on the trim just under the handle). I was so confused about which one to get, so when the shower head started leaking, I took the cartridge out and soaked in vinegar. A few months later it leaked again and wouldn't stop. Perfect Fit

I had 2 bathroom tub/shower that needed replacement. I installed these both in 90 mins with my son. Thank you Delta for supporting the older 1300/1400 Series (pre 4/2006 and earlier). These were in operation for 16 years and just started dripping. You saved me thousands of dollars, just by replacing the valve. THANK YOU DELTA!

did not fit exactly

This is a pre 2006 Delta shower mixer, exactly like the one I had, EXCEPT..... There are small plastic washers at the very tip of the hot/cold water intakes, I couldn't remove them, as a result the head did not seat properly on the brass valve body where the retaining ring screws on. Had to return

Not as easy as it should have been

So, it worked. My original delta 1400 shower was starting to act up. Not leaking, but I would turn on the water and nothing would come out. This only happened occasionally, but was a pain in the mornings trying to get ready for work and I couldn't get the water on. I'd try it 1 hr later, and like magic it would work again. No idea why. Valve work great, be sure to hold valve housing when tightening back up.

Fixed dripping faucet on two showers

This cartridge stopped a constant hot water drip on a shower when the seal kit (RP4993) didn't. I bought a second cartridge for another shower and it fixed that one too. By the way, the seal kit worked on bathroom sink faucet.

Only lasted about 4 months of use

Installed in a vacation home. One year old but only 4 months use and needs replacing. Delta brand not worth price. Just use Danco brand to save cost if I am going to have to replace it often anyway.

You can purchase a new one that leaks

We had a leaky shower in the master bath. After determining that this was the part needed, I purchased online. I read several reviews of people having to return this diverter valve and exchange for a different one. Super Faucets!

All of the faucets in our house as Delta. We picked them out 17 years ago during the buying process. Their performance is extraordinary and when we had a small leak, the replacement parts or faucet arrived in a couple of day and totally free of charge. Great products that look and work as well today as they did brand new.

Leaks

I replaced the cartridge because I wanted to have more cold water. Replacing the cartridge was not that difficult, but it is leaking now.
