Smooth plane, features meh

Makes a nice clean plane. I removed solid maple and laminated finish plywood very thinly, ~1/64” at a time, so don’t know how it would do removing more per pass. Not as loud as expected. Seems like a good tool. One thing I immediately disliked was the thickness adjustment knob. It turns way too easily. Constantly twisted dial when planing horizontally and vertically. Maybe won’t be too bad on a flat surface but was annoying. Wouldn’t be okay if it was tighter and had more pronounced det...

No Dust Bag

This is an excellent planer. I just purchased it and love it. I already have about ten or so DeWalt power tools and love their tools. The one problem I have is that it does not come with a dust bag, and it is EXTREMELY dusty, depending how deep you plane the material. To make it worse, I cannot find anything on the DeWalt web page. They indicate a number for the dust bag, but when I search for it, it responds that it cannot find it.

Well I think that as far as the De walt goes the product ia a very good product, well made, However that stands to be seen, In how well do they back their products, Because if they back their products the way Ridgid does, when you call to tell them that their brad nail gun stop working and you try to get them to fix it, and they tell you that no one works on Ridgid in Waco and tell you to contact Ryobi and I did and they never did contact me again, to this day! That tells you a lot about Ryobi.

Not Square Whatsoever

Could not align this thing to save my life, and the included blade guide is worthless. Front and rear shoes were not even square with each other. Drum must be crooked too since it shaves deeper on one side than the other, and even gouges with the dial set to zero. I expected better from Dewalt and I am returning this.

I'm giving this a 4 star rating omly because my store does NOT carry replacement blades. They say its an omly dewalt product from website and that's difficult to find there.
