Love it

It was a toss up between this and the Bosch. I decided on the Dewalt as it was cheaper. No issues changing the bits. Converting to fixed and plunge is easy. Variable speed works great

Great router

Strong router, makes nice smooth cuts

missing peices

We use dewalt everything and I was so excited to play with the router but there is no way for me to connect my bit. I don't know if I have to buy that piece separate or if I was supposed to come with the kit.

Expected more from DeWalt

Bought this with high hops, the plunge base binds badly so when you believe you're at the cutting depth you find thy that your actually cutting abut a third. Very disappointed in the product, The micro adjustment screw has a spring on it that also binds and causes the screw to lock. You have to put a thin washer between the adjustment spring and the depth stop rod. This I could have lived with but the plunge bid is so bad that it's going back. maybe the Bosch or Hitachi will be better.

power cord missing

I bought this router and as soon as i opened the box i noticed that the power cord was missing. Make sure everything is in the box before buying.

Short-lived.

I thought DeWalt was among the best in power tools so I purchased this router combo pack just a few weeks ago. I built it into my table saw movable table and began routing pieces for a corner cabinet for our patio. With very little use and a barely warm motor, the internal electronic control circuit failed. Good Router for the money

Bought this router a year or so ago. I like the variable speed feature. It has enough power to cut through Hickory and Walnut like butter. Have not really used the plunge base. There are 2 aggravating things about this router. One can be minimized I found. The depth adjustment worm groove gets dirty really easy, then you cannot extent the bit without both hands and wobbling and pushing the router out. Good overall, needs an Led light

I like the router overall, but I have seen other reviews commenting on the lack of a Led light. Very difficult to see what you are doing without a light.

Excellent product and feature packed

Excellent router in all ways, except the vacuum connector and effectiveness virtuallt worthless. Either I know not the rotation, or the refuse collector is on the wrong side.

Great product

This is the 3rd router I have and by far the best. Does all I need it to do.

Waste of Money

Got this as a gift in 2016 for Father's day. Motor burned out during first use cutting the third 3/4" dado. Took it back to Lowes and got a replacement. Replacement unit motor burned out cutting 1/2" dados on its second use. Three projects and two burnt motors. Going to try warranty service, but anyone else looking should buy a better product.

lacked power. motor burned up

I love DeWalt tools. This however is a miss. the motor lacked power and bogged down. The motor burned up 4 months after purchase.

Poor Quality and Service

I bought this router and used it occasionally for about 6 months before having problems. It started dropping rpm to the point where it almost stopped spinning (very light load on cutter) and then would slowly come back up to speed at random points during a light cut. From other reviews, it seems the variable speed control on this model is frequently faulty. I figure it's faulty on mine too. I brought it to an authorized service center and it's been gone for over 3 weeks with no eta on getting...

Router works well for inlays

I purchased this router to make inlays and wanted something with dust collection. Works well and collects dust well

junk!!

I bought this router because it seems to be one of the only full-sized routers with a spindle lock. The motor burned out during the first hour of use. I was cutting 3/4" dadoes, a standard operation for this type of tool. I am a pro with years of experience. Too bad. I like that it had a spindle lock. But a spindle lock is cold comfort when a brand new tool is sparking and smoking.

Quality not what it use to be

Bought this and returned it. The fixed base was not flat and rocked. This got me looking at both the bases. The quality of these bases is sad. There is no finish on them, the machining is rough. Compared to my PC 690 which is 15 years old the difference is night and day. Guess I’ll stick with my old router. I did like the soft start. Lowe's was really good about the return.

perfect router

Only thing missing is lighting. Perfect power and precision cutting. Plunge base works like a charm. Can use 1/4 and 1/2 collets.
