Good low speed grinder!

I use this to sharpen my wood lathe tools, and it works perfectly. The wheels were balanced & surfaces square. It comes with a dressing tool that works. The only thing that I would have liked to have seen is a lower low speed on the variable control as you still have to be careful about overheating the a lathe tool when sharpening at 2000rpm.

Could You Make The Instructions Worse? Maybe

I don't know what Delta or Lowes is thinking allowing a set of instructions going out with a Bench Grinder this poor. Bench Grinders by nature are dangerous. They need to be assembled and used properly...as the first few pages point out. But the diagrams are tiny, unreadable, which makes it dangerous. Imagine a copy of a copy of a copy reduced to a fraction of the proper side. The grinder itself is good value. My suggestion to Lowes is make the suppliers step up. Preliminary Evaluation

Recently purchased and little use so far. I've read many reviews complaining of excessive vibration, noise, and wheel wobble. I measured runout of both mounting shafts and found them the same, right at 0.001", which is excellent. With grinding wheels removed there was no vibration, no wobble, no excessive noise, at any speed. I did encounter a wobble with the wheels installed, which was caused entirely by the course (36 grit) grinding wheel. The fine grinding wheel (60 grit) was balanced. ...

Unfortunately, Not A Quality Product

I have purchased exclusively with Lowe's for several years. They offer quality products, no problems. In the past three months, I have purchased two 8" Delta bench grinders with variable speed control. The first purchase had such a vicious vibration to it that the stand I had it mounted to would walk across the floor. The variable speed switch would not control the RPM of the grinding wheels. DELTA 8" Bench Grinder

Spent $150 on it thinking "most expensive must be the best". Came home assembled it and turned it on. The way it vibrated was horrible! EXTREMELY UNSAFE! THIS THING WILL EXPLODE ON YOU VIBRATING LIKE THAT.

Great brand And quality

I needed a grinder that would not bog down on lots of hard rust. This grinder has plenty of power and is built well. I also bought the stand that was made for it. I would recommend to anyone who needs a grinder with a lot of power.

Great Grinder for my Home Shop

After reading some of the reviews I was a bit skeptical about this grinder. Out of the box it ran very smooth and once mounted it has very little if any vibration (No balancing or adjustment needed). I couldn't be happier with the performance and features. Great price and very fast shipping from Lowe's.

Garbage Grinder!

Owned Delta grinder for about 6 months. Used grinder about 7-10 times total for about 1 minute each time (Very light use). Went to turn on yesterday day and would not turn on. Noticed small fuse on control board was popped. Installed new fuse and same problem. Checked capacitor and found ok. Determined motor was shorted to ground. Great Grinder

I purchased this grinder to sharpen lathe tools. It works quite well and the built-in tool holders even have an angled rest for getting points accurate and sharp. It was easy to assemble and the variable speed is handy for a multitude of tasks.

Great grinder for home shop

Needed a grinder for the normal stuff. Runs very smoothly, tool rest are solid and has a guide for sharpening drill bits on the left side with a fine grit stone nice fit and finish well worth it.

CONTINUES TO BLOW THE INTERNAL FUSE ON 2 SEPARATE

I HAVE A PERSOANL GRINDER AND WAS PLEASED WITH IT SO I PURCHASED ONE FOR THE MECHANIC SHOP. ROUGHLY 6 MONTHS INTO THE SHOP GRINDER WE HAD FOUND THAT THE INTERNAL GLASS FUSE LOCATED AT THE BASE OF THE GRINDER WAS OPEN, THUS THE GRINDER QUITE WORKING. REPLACED THE FUSE AND IT WOULD BLOW THE NEW FUSES AS FAST AS YOU COULD INSTALL THEM. SHORTLY AFTER THAT MY PERSONAL GRINDER AT HOME HAS THE SAME PROBLEM. Very disappointed in Delta right now

I bought this grinder because I love Delta power tools. I was extremely disappointed from the assembly through the use. The first thing I noticed was that all of the hardware bits that one just assemble are very lightweight and flimsy. One of the assembly bolts for the tool rest stripped out immediately you assembly with only finger tightening. The whole assembly is just flimsy garbage.
