What Customers Are Saying

The product appears to have mixed reviews. Some users found it easy to apply, quick-drying, and effective for small wall repairs. However, many others reported issues like sagging, slow drying, and poor consistency. Several reviewers noted the instructions were inaccurate, leading to problems when mixing and applying the product. Some felt it was not suitable for outdoor or vertical applications. Overall, the product may work well for minor indoor wall patching when used correctly, but has limitations and may not be suitable for more demanding repair jobs.

Like filling a hole with soft serve ice cream

Would Not Recommend

This stuff is like a bag of cement to which you've added twice as much water as you should or nearly melted ice cream. When you're using it, it falls out of the space you have put it in to. Once you do get it in by wildly overfilling, you can then cut it with a pocket knife. It has no strength at all. Absolute garbage.

Presto Patch - What a mess!

Would Not Recommend

Product was watery on top and so hard on bottom of bucket that my son had to stir with a paint stirrer that attaches to his drill. There was harder product in the bottom that would not stir even then.

Great for basement walls

Would Recommend

Exactly what is needed for repairing nail holes, chips or cracks in cinder block walls. The only drawback to this product is hard it is to get it stirred up to the right consistency when you first use it, especially if you are unfortunate enough to have to mix by had like I had to. Most of the thicker/harder components of this product will have settled to the bottom into a dense mass. Use a think stick as a paint stirrer won't last 5 seconds. Take your time and get it mixed completely. Once mixe...

On previous projects I had used DAP Flexible Floor Patch and Leveler which is an excellent product for use on wood. Lowes has stopped carrying this good product in the 128 oz. size. A clerk suggested that I try this "Presto Patch" and I did. 3 days later, it still hadn't dried all the way. A week later I could still dig my heel into it. It might work well for small patches but then you wouldn't need a 128 oz. size. Lowes needs to resume stocking the 128 oz. size of DAP Flexible Floor Patch and L...

Great stuff but doesn't go that far

Would Not Recommend

I purchased this since they were out of the other stuff I was using. Well it didn't go that far so I was better off getting the 80lb bags of dry cement that were a lot cheaper and go a lot farther. I'm only doing patch areas on mom's patio and sidewalks, so it's not like I'm doing huge jobs or areas. So I would recommend this if you only have a couple of small areas to patch otherwise get the bags.

Not all it's cracked up to be..

Purchase based on label description as "Indoor Outdoor Polymer Putty" and our sales asst's assurance that it would withstand the elements. We used it (as per label "sticks to wood") to fill nail head holes from the air gun before final paint. We decided to let it dry an extra day even though according to instructions and appearance it should have been cured within 24 hours at temp. Two days in we had a summer shower and the putty not only came up, but disintegrated and ran down I between the boa...

Very good patching compound

Would Recommend

This compound works well. I was looking for a product to surface plywood. Most products of this type are not recommended for surfacing, but this one performs as a surfacing agent. It is very easy to work with, spreads smooth (Long, slightly firm strokes are best.) and is very easy to sand and form. It stands up to wet or dry surfacing. Very good value.

Powerful Patch

Would Recommend

You'll love your patchwork with this product. It dries quickly, and will fill deep holes in your drywall. It sands smoothly, but creates an immense amount of dust. Be sure to have your wife go on vacation before you think about sanding.

Really awesome stuff

Would Recommend

It was a little bit more money than the usual patch, but well worth it. Went up fast, dried fast sanded great. Went up in one coat and filled deep holes.

Very bad experience the product was spoiled.

Lowes is my preferred place to buy home products but this item was worthless. It might be because it was stocked for a very long time. I ended up returning it.

Will Not Work On Ceilings

Would Not Recommend

I needed to repair large holes in plaster ceilings. The cracked plaster had to be removed leaving only the lath. This ready to use Presto Patch was too thin, meaning it would not stick to the lath and would simply drip off. It may work good on walls but why not just use Joint Compound, its cheaper. I returned it and bought Plaster of Paris which when mixed correctly sticks to the lath and several layers later it fixed my ceilings.

Exterior Patio Wood Beam Patch

Would Recommend

I had one rough-sawn 6" x 12" x 18' wood beam on my patio cover devastated by carpenter bees and I used this product to repair the beam. For small gouges of less then 1" only one application was necessary. Any gap larger required multiple applications and 7 hours drying time in between applications. It worked perfectly and was easy to sand and shape for end design. Accepted exterior paint with no problem and looks awesome. I used the entire bucket to repair the beam and it saved me hundreds of d...

Old and moldy

Would Not Recommend

Purchased the last bucket of this material. Opened it to find it was so old all material had settled into a brick like state and black mold had formed inside the container. Will definitely return this item ASAP.
