Would RecommendNeeded to patch a small hole in bathroom drywall beside the tub and bought this due to it being water resistant. So far so good

Fill, Dry, Repeat
Would RecommendI have had two cracks in the plaster the full width of the living room ceiling. They were patched decades ago but the patching has cracked and the cracks opened up again. I just fixed one of the cracks and it has taken me about three days to complete the process. I hope the Elasto-Patch does fix it permanently because it took a lot of refilling the crack,(about six times) TO fill the crack up to the level of the surrounding surface. The trouble is the stuff shrinks noticeably. And since you cann...

READ THE LABEL
Would RecommendThis patching compound is elasticized to prevent re-cracking in areas that are prone to hot and/or cold. In other words, temperature fluctuations-cold shrinks, hot swells, dry shrinks, humid swells, ie.contractions, etc.... Common sense tells you that a rubberized product can't be sanded--AND the instructions state "PRODUCT IS NOT SANDABLE". If YOU purchased this product without knowing what you're doing, you DIDN'T DO YOUR HOMEWORK!

4 out of 5 stars
Would RecommendI'm giving it a 4 star rating. I liked the fact it is elastomeric, however, I did not realize until it was applied that it was not sand-able. While still pliable, I was able to smooth it out below the surface of the wall and use joint compound to fill the rest. My hope is that this repair will flex and not crack with any future earthquakes.

Elastic Patch is Okay
Would RecommendThis patch is fine for very smooth surfaces but not for plaster or concrete steps. it is not sandable and will dry very smooth and slippery. Good material, just not for my work with plaster and plaster repair.

It works
Would RecommendPro(s): Had a drywall crack that I repaired several times with regular spackle. The crack would, over time, return. Did some research and found this elastopatch stuff. It has the consistency of runny toothpaste. I sanded the drywall lightly then forced the patch into the crack, smoothed it out and let it dry. Sanded again lightly, dusted and painted. The crack has not returned. Con(s) I now have 31.5oz of this stuff I'll never use. PLEASE sell it in a SMALLER 2oz tube.

Good stuff
Would RecommendI’ve used several different patch compounds , most are good but this one does a very good job of sealing and sands out nice and smooth, takes on paint very well. I recommend this product to anyone that wants a good finish the first time.

Only product like it .
Would RecommendFinally a product that keeps stress cracks from reoccurring. After years of caulking and re taping only to have the cracks come back through within a few weeks, this product is actually holding back the cracks. I carve out the old tape and bed in new tape so the Elastopatch is about 1/8” deep than mud over with regular drywall mud .

They need to place a label on the front that clearly shows not sandable
