I like the rechargeable battery. It takes a long time to charge. Maybe it's because of the first time. I like the long cable and the hardhat clips. The battery pack can get heavy. I don't like the new band design, the black and grey doesn't go with the black and red battery pack.

Night into day

I use this for my bicycle helmet as a second headlight. It’s so powerful that in traffic I only use the medium but on the dirt trails I use high. It makes night into day. Great product

Better than expected

I have owned and wasted money on numerous headlamps over many years. After owning the HL8R and the HL8 for better part of a year. I can safely say both are the best headlamps I have used. The batteries last as advertised and the headband is comfortable to wear. excellent light output and I especially like that the light output can be varied.

Super Headlamp

This is a great headlamp that is very bright and last a long time on a full charge. I use it all the time at work and am very pleased with it's performance. Also, the customer service was exceptional.

Great product! High quality, excellent functionality and features. As a Search & Rescue responder I count all of my equipment for my safety, the safety of my team mates and the people we are helping. Most of the time this is in less than ideal conditions and I have come to trust Coast products to perform for me.

Great little headlight works well for my father

My father has macular degeneration so believe it or not with the brighter light it allows him to see when walking with that being said we had 48 Duracell batteries gifted to us a while ago so we just ended up using the alkaline battery pack up until the end of May when we run out so we ended up using the lithium ion battery or rather trying to been trying to charge it it just remains in red once again this has been sitting in the box since new not been used. Tried to charge it and nothing happen...

Great light

Really bright batteries last a long time the ones that came with it the rechargeable one really long time my other light last a couple hours with this one i bought it last pretty much all day on high

Well worth it

I had been eyeing this item for a while then they sent me an email with this promo that if i buy hlr8 headlight them they will send me the rechargeable battery pack free and they did i have used it alot now i definitely impressed with it my only gripe is that im concered that the rechargeable battery pack charging port cover wont last long

Return the Light

i did not like the way the battery lack and light mounted on the Headband. The headlight continued to become un attached to the headband. The way the delight turned on and the way you changed the amount of light emitted from the LED. the twist function was difficult and a push button function would be easier to operate. The beam pattern was also irregular and a second Halo effect was created when focusing the beam from wide angle to spotlight. And for that reason and the ones above I return...
