Don't Waste Your Money

I recently bought four bags of Clean Straw. The only thing clean about this straw was that it does make a mess in your car. This product was full of sticks, limbs and large pinecones. Also the coverage is no better than the cheaper pine straw. I went to the store and complained and they were no help. I tried to call Quick Straw and never got an answer. I guess I learned a very expensive lessen.

Better than expected

It comes in a plastic bag so no mess in my car. It is almost free of cones sticks and other debris. However, the coverage is not as large as it claims and each bag is more expensive than two regular bales.

This straw worked fine for what I was doing but it is not 99% stick free as advertised. I bought 5 bales and everyone of them had 20 to 30 small sticks and a pinecone or 2.

More trash than usual

I was really looking forward to getting pine straw in a large flower bed next to the house. As I started with the first bale, I didn’t think much about all the trash in it. Second bale worse so I started to think about this as I cleared the trash up. As I continued with numerous bales I was completely overwhelmed at the amour of trash but continued as it was more trouble to take back the remaining bales. Easy to transport!

I like the ease of picking this up the fact there is no mess in transport the bales. I have use these before and very pleased that there were very little sticks, etc. in the bales. However, this time I was disappointed that there was more “trash” in the bales.

It appeared like this was the sweepings from the floor with very little pine straw in the package. There were a lot of small branches and pine straw as well as dirt. I purchase pine straw every year for a site and I just needed a little to finish, not 80 sq ft, not clean and not long needles.

Straw mulch is really helping our battle with black spot on our roses! Also the squirrels don't like walking on it in our raised bed veggie gardens. Saved our cucumbers! Will use it in the future.
