Would Not RecommendThis is the same tape as the magnetic version, they just don’t include the magnet. The issue I have is that the manufacturer extends the hook rivets to attach the magnet. In this version without the magnet the rivets still protrude. As I’ve done all my life, I slow the tape with my thumb to keep it from slamming home during retraction. Would Not RecommendThe tape is good but try to get it warrantied. When I bought it the store manager said if it breaks bring it back for a replacement . Try to bring it back the manager said we don't warranty tape measures .

Would RecommendI've owned many tape measures through the years and this Craftsman 16ft. is the best all-around tape measure I've ever had. The length is all-purpose. The tape will extend out 6ft plus on its own strength. It always has strong retraction. The white tape is extremely easy on the eyes. The red is easy to spot if I happen to set it down in the construction clutter. It fits well in my hand.
