We’ve used it for cutting 1 inch thick boards. Cuts easily, good control and easy to use. Switching out blades is quick & easy. We’re happy with it & would recommend.

Nice Jigsaw

Needed a jigsaw to cut on some projects I am doing around the house. With the variable speed control help keep the cuts on track and smooth.

Great Jig Saw

Craftsman has gone way down hill (sad)

I bought this saw for general around the house use. I have only used it once since I bought it. To square the blade I loosened the set screw, placed a square on the blade and base plate. I tightened the screw and the base plate moved 9 degrees from plumb. The issue is there are notches cut in the adjusting screw attachment, if they are not square (they are not) the blade will cut at an angle. I was about to cut a sink opening in a piece of laminate. Would have been nice if LOWES had given me my Military discount with the purchase since the store I go to normally didn't have the saw.

Lasted 20 Minutes

20 minutes into first use, cuttting 1/2" plywood, the pin(s) that engage the cutting mechanism to the motor sheared. Most of the pieces are still in the motor housing but I can see by the bits that fell out, the manufacturer used a gauge barely larger than a paper clip. Completely inappropriate for a 5 amp unit. I've ways preferred Craftsman but am not impressed with their quality since being picked up by Lowes as a retailer.

Returning Today

Bought this saw and found he blade wasn't centered and the shoe wasn't level or square. Returning it today,bought it yesterday!

Missing the blade

Just purchased this saw for my husband, and when we opened the package the wood blade that is included was missing.

Disappointed, and I wish I could return

I've had this saw about 6 months, and used it on two occasions. The first use I noticed the cut was not square, and when I checked the blade, it was not perpendicular to the shoe. Since that job was not finish work, I let it go, and figured it was just me. Yesterday I made two insert plates for my table saw, and I took extra time to square the blade. Disappointed, wish I could return

Shoe is not square. I don’t need an expensive tool, as I am just a hobbyist, but I do demand something that approaches quality.

Excellent purchase

I was looking for an inexpensive jigsaw, but wanted to make sure the quality was there. I was not dis-appointed, I like the variable adjustments and the key less feature.

To date, only used on wood. Worked well on cutting scribe molding for the kitchen. Love the quick release blade. Comes with only one blade so plan on buying the right blade for the job.
