What Customers Are Saying
This product received mixed reviews. Some customers found it to be a fun, creative, and educational building project for young children around 5 years old, allowing them to engage in hands-on learning and bonding with parents or grandparents. However, others reported issues with confusing instructions, difficult assembly, and poor quality materials that were not durable enough for young users. The overall experience seems to vary, so customers should consider the age and skill level of the child when deciding if this is the right product for them.

Difficult to Assemble - Parts kept falling off
Would Not RecommendThe instructions were in an order that caused other parts to fall off when you nailed in other parts. Whenever you try to nail in one part, another part that was already put in would take the hit and the nail wouldn't go in, but the other parts already put in would fall out and would end up making a bigger hole in the wood due to the wood being so soft. You then can't nail in the part that fell off due to the hole being bigger. It was impossible to put together due to this issue. Ended up just g...

Poor quality
Would Not RecommendI don't know if it was something in the wood or what, but on one of the tail fins I could not get a nail to go in. I bend 3 that came with the plane, then 2 that I had of my own before finally just wood gluing it on. Also the support for the front wheel split when I we hammered in the nail.
Poor quality and difficult to assemble
Would Not RecommendThis little kit was a great idea in theory, but the execution could have been better. As others have said, the wood is very soft and leaves dents when little hands miss the nail heads. Also, the nails keep coming loose, especially when another part is nailed in. We kept having the re-hammer other nails every time a new part was nailed in. The wheels were especially difficult to put in, as were other parts that had to be nailed horizontally. Perhaps simpler kits (like the castle) will be eas...
junk
Would Not RecommendPay $10 for $0.50 worth of wood and stickers, assemble (sort of), and toss in the trash. These things are expensive junk. My son wanted it, so I bought it thinking it would be fun. Well, to begin with, the nails won’t even go all the way in. No matter how hard you hit them. Yes, even I tried. Then, they fall out and therefor the plane falls apart. Oh, and if you and your kid don’t see the nail fall out, you get to play the fun game of “is that a nail in my foot?” Well done Lowes.
Airplane
Would RecommendNice beginners project so that the little ones can get lots of hammering in. Also can be used to teach how to fix things when they inevitably break them…
Grandson loves this
Would RecommendGreat project for a young kid, easy, fast, not overwhelming but still so much fun to put together!!!

Easy enough for my 3 year old
Would RecommendThis was the first building project my son did and he loved it! We’ve since done 1 other. It held his attention the whole time we were building it which was maybe 20-30 minutes.

Worst of the kits
Would Not RecommendMy son and I have done more than 10 of the Build and Grow kits and this was the worst, by far. The way the instructions have you put it together you are nailing on pieces when you cant put it flat to hammer. One piece broke off during assembly and we never could get either of the back wheels on. We love doing these kits but I would not recommend this one.
Fun project
Would RecommendSon and I put it together. The only thing is the MLG wheel broke in half and had to make a new one. Out of all of build and grow projects this the one that had a few smaller fragile parts. My son and I love doing the build and grow projects together.
