Ratings & Reviews for BLACK+DECKER 2 -Amp Variable Speed Sheet Sander with Dust Management
Ratings may include incentivized customer reviews.
What Customers Are Saying
The 2-Amp sheet sander is a compact and lightweight palm sander that provides good power and effective dust collection for small projects and DIY tasks. Many users find it easy to use, though some report issues with the sandpaper staying in place and the limited availability of pre-punched sanding sheets. While suitable for occasional use, a few customers noted the sander's lifespan was shorter than expected, suggesting it may not be ideal for heavy-duty or professional applications.

Would RecommendEasier to use and more powerful than expected. Also, expected to have to purchase the mfgr's. propriatary paper likw the "corner kitty" i got last time. Nope. Just cut to fit, clamp on and use the provided hole punch for dust removal.
Not Enough Tension in Recievers
Would Not RecommendThe Recievers that retain your paper in aren't tight enough to hold the paper in place. I've tried different brands and grits. You can fold the paper over but then it tears at the edge of the sanding surface.
Watch out for the lock
I like its uniformity of oscillation, I didn't like that the application of sheets is by clamp instead of by hook and loop. Also, there is a "lock" to keep it on when working for a long time, but it also slides over into the "locked" position randomly, so that sometimes you have to move it to the left in order to sand something, sometimes it slides to the "locked" position when you are using it and don't want it to.

Not the same Black and Decker
Would Not RecommendI bought a couple of these things to add to my existing, 15 year old B&D 1/4 sander. The idea is (was) to have a different grit paper in each sander while I finished 45 cabinet doors, instead of having to keep swapping paper out. The good: Ergonomics are a lot better than any other 1/4 sheet sander. Fits comfortably in the hand, vibrates less, and I really like the power switch: soon as you remove the sander from the piece, it's off, which is handy when you realize you're about to over sand! Clips No Longer Hold Sandpaper
Would Not RecommendWe were happy at first with this sander because it was so easy to put on the sandpaper, but after using it for several months, the clips do not hold the sandpaper in place. Using the sander has become an unwelcome chore.

Good sander, but make the clamps easier to use.
Would RecommendI liked the power, but the wire retainers are hard to close with arthritis. The top has to be pushed for it to run. Some may like this but having to cup the top makes my hand sore after a while of use.
