Quality poor

This is the second mouse sander I have owned. The first worked to perfection until it died of old age, I think. However, I have not had this one a full month and already major problem! I used the finger attachment for no more than 10 minutes, and it flew off. I checked the sander base and found where the screw was attached to be burning hot to touch, and the plastic casing where the screw attached had actually melted!

Terrible quality

Didn’t get to sand anything with it. I got it all set up to use but when I would turn it on the dust filter would fall off. No matter how I put it on the vibration during operation caused the filter to fall off. And just when I was about to get the manual out because I must surely be doing something wrong the thing quit working and hasn’t worked since. Good news though…the filter stays on now.

Great tool to use but a major hazard

I used this product and it worked really well until after a month it started to have a burning smell then one second later the bottom half popped off and I got shocked afterward and the circuit breaker went off as well which I was lucky that I the breaker went off!

Need a replacement

Got my black and decker mouse sander last week of September... used it finally last week to remove the varnish of a dining chair; and today I did the second. When I used the accessory pointy part to reach the nooks and crannies, the accessory fell off. I thought at first that the screw was loose; but, when I checked, the plastic area around the screw melted down. I could not finish the nooks and crannies anymore. Hope you can correct this issue because this gadget is useful...sadly I can’t finis...

Great Handheld Tool

The black and decker mouse sander has really helped me sand tight corners on my dressers and end drawers that I wouldn’t have previously been able to reach. Very efficient tool that comes with the dust collector. I had no issue with the dust collector coming off during my projects and found it easy to empty between sanding sessions. Would recommend!

Just buy one better

First use and dust collector is already falling apart.

Take breaks so the pad doesn’t overheat.

I’d be happy to pay a bit more for a bit more durability. But overall, it gets the job done. Also, buy additional “finger platens” because you will wear them our quickly. And if you really plan to use this, buy the sandpaper in packages larger than five sheets each. I buy 50-sheet boxes.

Great, but the fingertip melted

The sander was phenomenal, then, I understood what the fingertip attachment was for and was elated because I needed to get between the square spindles on a chair. Working away and the fingertip attachment, which is screwed on broke off. I thought maybe I hadn't tightened it enough only to see that it had gotten so hot that the anchor in the sander melted, making the sander completely unusable. brought it to Lowe's who cheerfully exchanged it. I was conscious of trying not to heat to overheat it,...

New design? Workhorse

I purchased one in August of 2020 and finally go to use the finger attachment in July 2021. Used it for 5 minutes and the part where the attachment screws in melted and the attachment fell off. I exchanged it for a new one because it was the only one I found with the finger attachment. I really needed it to get the tight spots between my stair railings.
