Axis 500 UTV Red

Had this Axis 500 for about a month. I have been pleasantly surprised by its off road ability. It takes trails and rocky hills very well. It has pretty good fuel economy for its size. Only quirks so far is it sometimes will not idle after sitting for sometime and has some odd rattling noises.

Terribly Built, do not waste your money

We have had this for barely 30 days and the horn and headlights have stopped working. It randomly shuts off, the transmission pops in and out, the rubber latched on the doors have broken off, the driver door doesn’t latch correctly . The list goes on and on, we use this for utility work on our property; we aren’t off roading it or using it remotely how something like this should be used and it’s falling a part. Good value for what you get.

No winch control provided at pickup. Ozark Lowes gave me one. Speedometer doesn’t work. Will have to get warranty work done. Good value so far. Windshield scratches from sale tags being taped on. These will have to be buffed out. Squeaks from somewhere in front suspension.

More time in shop than riding it

My stepfather purchased an Axis 500 from Lowes in March 2023. He paid cash for it. June 2023 he had to take to a shop for warranty repair for transmission and driveshaft problems. It is still in the shop and now the shop is telling him that Lowes sold him a used one.

Slow Motor

Bought one of these for hunting and it is very slow going up hills no power whatsoever my E-bike and my Polaris 400 make this Axis " 500 " look like a gift shop toy my wife is very upset about the price as well we're better off spending extra for Polaris

This beats Polaris 10/10

I like everything about this UTV when you compare it to others of the same”ish” build, there is no comparison.

Gets hot inside the cab but windshield comes off

Don't waste your money

This vehicle is a hunk of junk. In less than a year it started giving me issues. To start there was a leak of water from the radiator to the oil. This issue took 4 trips 1.5 hours away from my home to get fixed. As soon as I recieved my vehicle the 4th time the engine made a strange sound and didn't last a day before the piston snapped. Possible problem

I like the unit. My only issue at this point is that it smokes sometimes when I start. It has 43 miles on the odometer

Do your research

Make sure you know where to take this machine. There is a warranty but the places that fix them under warranty are few and far between. Better off buying at a local ATV/UTV motorcycle shop that sells and does warranty work.

Reliable and plenty of bang for your buck’s

Runs great and seems reliable. Not exactly a Honda Pioneer 500, but fully loaded for the price. Super easy to operate. It’s a little on the noisy side, but seems to be quitting down as it get broken in. I recommend upgrading the battery and using Ams Oil engine and differential fluids after the initial 100 mile break in period. Lowes is not a car dealership, so expect to be there for a few hours while the staff figures out how to do the sell. : )

Highly disappointed

With only 16 hours on my axis 500 it fails to start or Idle without holding the accelerator. If you let off the accelerator the machine will die immediately. Contacted hisun and they gave me the number to a service center over an hour away. The service center informed me they weren’t taking any units right now due to too many in their shop.
