do not buy this. it never stops being tacky and stays white on dark backgrounds. terrible!!

Stencil usage

I have yet to use this product. I purchased it hoping it would provide a tacky, sticky film on vinyl stencils so that they may be used more than once for various craft projects requiring stencils (i.e., make a vinyl stencil with a sticky side that allows its removal and reuse). Does this product fit that use? Thanks.

Melted wall covering.

I just applied to wall to restick peel n stick vinal wallpaper, it looks like it has melted the covering in areas.

Worked perfectly for me

We wanted to make a flannel board out of a magnetic whiteboard. I used the suggestion of another reviewer to clean the spray nozzle with Goof Off, taped the frame carefully, then sprayed a light, even coat of S77. There were perhaps a dozen bubbles in the 24" x 36" board after spraying but either they leveled out or were flattened during the smoothing on of the flannel. Did not work for veneer on a curved surface.

I tried to use 3M Super 77 to attach a very thin veneer grill to the curved cabin of a model ship. It seemed perfect for gluing the complicated grill work piece. I glued the piece and clamped it all day. When I removed the clamps the veneer de-laminated almost immediately. It was still covered with a gooey, tacky mess that was difficult to remove. Very disappointing.

Very Disappointed

Have been using Supper 77 every day for almost 20 years. The last can purchased has a new nozzle design that's terrible -- too much overspray and very uneven glue dispersion. I'm constantly having to clean it to get an even spray, without gettin glue all over my hand.

Awesome product when used according to below.

I have been using this product for many years with perfect success if used according to directions and after investigating the materials you are trying to adhere; also after religiously doing a small test sample whenever possible. Some additional tips for a better experience with many spray adhesives: • ALWAYS soak the spray tip in GOOF OFF, IMMEDIATELY after every use, or if the tip becomes clogged during prolonged use. Tacky a week later and left white residue

I followed instructions to the "T" and my project is still sticky and left a white residue so now things look dusty. I used the spray to apply glitter and faux snow to wreaths. I may have ruined 3 wreaths. I have recently read reviews of other people with the same issue. I wish I had seen those reviews earlier. I went out of may to hunt this product down because of other reviews. I am not sure what to do to try to salvage these wreaths? Please help

Love the new spray nozzle

The new spray nozzle is so consistent and clean, I love it!

The product is great, the size not so great

I use this product for my sticky mats for my circuit and have spent so much money on replacements as the nozzles clog up, I have soaked in hot water and and nothing seems to work so I go buy another can. It would be great if you made 1 or 2 oz cans for crafters. Is there any way to unclog, I hate wasting almost full cans

Poor substitute for the original

For the last ten years I've used Super 77 with 220 sq ft coverage which has excellent tact time & bond. This new formula is lacking in every way. No tact no hold. I need to rethink my assembly with an adhesive that works.

better than gorilla

most important thing about spray adhesives is to have a nozzle that keeps itself clear from dryed glue, otherwisw you use it once and the rest is no good cuz the nozzle is gummed up.... 3M is only brand that seems to get the nozzle right

not for foam

I tested this on foam more than once I didn't notice it melting like most of the rest.I am redoing the ceiling of a rv I have many hours on it and now I find the glue does melt the foam. I have a real mess Why not tell the public it does not work on foam. I have used about 10 cans . It looks like it works until you pull it apart. the foam is melted

Did not work

Hard to get off hand stick very well to skin but Will not glue vinyl to foam will glue vinyl to vinyl with a permanent seal it a little sticky but is not a permanent seal

adhesive

I use this spray adhesive on hobbies and crafts to make scenery for a model train setup. It's easy to use and doesn't clog up.

Great Stuff

3M Super 77 is a great adhesive. I’ve used it to temporary stick sandpaper to sanding pads, and even to put flame-retardant cloth up like wallpaper over an unfinished concrete basement wall to “dress it up” until i have the time/funds to frame, insulate, and sheet-rock it. If you spray it on one side only, it’ll make most things stick like tape.

Do NOT use over photos!!!

I am so upset. I just spent a fortune on photos for a 3 year project. The can of super77 says “photo safe”. It is NOT! I had many brands of all purpose adhesive I could have chosen but went with Scotch because i thought i could trust it. I did exactly what the instructions told me! The whole project is now covered with tiny white dots of glue and some bigger splats where the can didn’t spray right. I am so upset!

Didn’t work

Bought this spray to stick a decal onto a exhaust tip of a motorcycle. Sprayed both surfaces and then installed when it started to get tacky. It stuck at first but once the motorcycle started up and went for a drive the sticker started to immediately peel back off. Thought for sure this product would of worked. Unfortunately it was a waste of money for what I needed it for.
