Widely useful for house painting prep
I used six containers of this 3M product on my redwood siding during house painting prep. I closed up 5 inch vent holes, reconstructed broken trim, planarized soffits with chipped paint, covered nail heads, and filled cracks and knotholes. I generally let the putty cure at least 48 hours before sanding and priming. The resulting repaired surfaces are flawlessly smooth and hard.

This stuff makes the job so much easier. Had a few large areas to repair and it filled the area with no problem and goes on smooth and easy. I waited a week before I sanded it to make sure there was no shrinkage and to my surprise there was none at all and it sands easily. Made the job I was dreading to do easy and took paint well.

Not for textured stucco
Would Not RecommendI was looking for textured stucco repair for cracks on the outside of my house and this was the product that showed up, so I bought a small container (thankfully!). When I wanted to go and use it, I was told, that I needed a sand and concrete type mixture, not this. This is for smooth walls for indoor use. However, since I had bought it and opened it, I didn't try to return it either. Lesson learned.
