very good coverage w/o second coat

this was my second trip to your store to buy paint' the first time, the person in the paint department could not answer any of my questions; could not figure out how to tint the paint I decided to buy. I left w/o a purchase while he was still trying to figure out what to do. when I went back, the young lady helped me pick the paint, helped with the color took care of tinting it and I was very pleased with the service. the first person should either be in a different department or trained better....

Easy application

Went on easily, not too thin or thick. Coverage wasn't awesome, but not terrible either. Overall a good product.

Great one coat paint .

So happy with any Valspar paint... this is great paint with a great price... mix any color..

Do not waste your money

First time I have ever had to use two coats of a white paint to cover up a white paint. Some areas which were very light gray needed several coats. It still feels tacky after several days.

Terrible

This paint is the worst paint ever. It stays tacky and it doesn't cover well...even after three coats it still had dark spots. The wood I used it on was even light colored wood. I recommend you don't waste your money on this product.

valspar paint

Took whole can to do 2 walls(in a small bedroom) for price I might recommend it

Covers pretty well

We just painted my daughter's room & the Valspar covered pretty well. We did go over it a second time, b/c a few spots needed it, but overall I am happy with it.

Ultra 4000

Used this in my living room over paneling, took 4 coats and i did just one wall. I do like how the one wall looks.

bad white wash

Bought this to paint white over white. Worse stuff I ever purchased. Been painting for over 25 years. Never seen paint turn out so bad. Save your money.

My favorite Economy Paint

As always, the only way to get a job as a painting contractor is to quote the lowest price. I just did an entire apartment in 4000. The bathroom and trim was semi-gloss, the ceiling was flat white, everything else was eggshell.The bathroom was "Clear Blue Sky" and everything else was "Swiss Coffee". Very pale light colors, but no problems covering with one coat. I've probably painted over 1,000 rooms the past 5 years or so. Valspar paint is the only paint I will buy when I want a fabulous looking project... It covers well and is durable...

Very poor coverage

I bought this paint to freshen my bedroom which was an eggshell white. The color I chose was named basket (a bright cream). It took 4 coats to cover. I would have bought the more expensive grade and paid a little more if I had known it would have saved me twice the work. I would not buy this paint again.

Only paint I buy

Love everything by Valspar... from the sample paint to the Valspar 4000.. Nice and thick and almost always only needs one coat... Will always and only buy Valspar!!

Valspar 4000 Latex

I used this paint to freshen up my "new" home. It goes on easy with very little mess. It is a thicker paint than others which I like. This paint covers more area than other more expensive brands that I have tried - with poor results. I will stick with Valspar for my painting needs. Whatever color you select, they will make it for you.

covered in one coat!

I purchased valspar 4000 in a dark chocolate, I figured two coats to cover the white wall, I was amazed to see it only took one coat! I highly recommend valspar!
