Works Great

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I used The Valspar Express Coat Interior Paint on my bedroom walls and absolutely love how they look. I bought the Agreeable Gray color and was thrilled with how smoothly it went on with both a brush and a roller. I had to use more than one coat on my walls because they were a very dark red color but this covered it very easily and with minimum effort. This is super easy to clean up by using dish detergent and warm water with a towel for spills...

Loved it

This was smooth and worked great, especially with old walls that were very dry and thirsty. I had already purchased some, and using the same formula I got a really reliable color that I love!

Excellent Budget Paint

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This paint is great if you're looking for a budget paint that covers well and isn't expensive. My husband remodeled our small bathroom and I wanted a white paint that would quickly cover the ceiling. The ceiling was already painted white, so it just needed a quick, fresh coat. This paint was perfect for the job. I used a roller and a brush for the sides and this paint was thick and smooth in coverage. It's nothing fancy but it gets the job...

Fantastic paint!

This covered my walls with two coats we no bleed through from grease or other kitchen stains. I loved that it did not have the harsh chemical smell that others have, it was gentle on the nose and skin.

Nice coverage

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We were getting ready to sell our home and my son had always wanted a navy blue room. It looked really great but I didn't want it to be a distraction to potential buyers. I was thinking it would be a nightmare to go from navy blue to white but it wasn't. It covered very nicely and evenly. And for the sake of buyers, it made the room look much bugger!

Terrible paint coverage

I bought this paint to cover an old bannister that was plain brown wood. I had it tinted a black color and thought it looked pretty good after application. I sanded the bannister a lot before application to make sure the paint would stick. Cleaned it after sanding and like I said, looked great at first. I got the semi-gloss and it didn’t have a shine to it for some reason. After a day of drying, I was inspecting my work before applying a second coat. I ran my fingernail across the banniste...

bad smell after after dry

I painted my garage with the semi-gloss interior 3 weeks ago. I knew it was inexpensive paint but it is just a garage but now it has a strong musty smell that wont go away I live in the Phoenix area so it is warm and very dry here. Any suggestions?

terrible

I use cheap paint and have always prefered Valspar. I was shocked at how terrible this paint is. Its basically like painting with water. The cloverage is terrible because of it. I also used about double the paint I normally would have used.

Do not brush and roll!!!!

Im a painter. This product is cheap. But for me it worked.. Not for brush and rolled. You have to spray the product.. Also before applying any paint. Sand your walls and spot prime bad areas ( water spots, stains .....) Do it right Goodfor rental property

Really. Poor. Paint.

Poor coverage. Even 2 coats can't cover a new off white hollow core door. Eggshell looks like plain old flat white. Paint leaves a very rough feel. Never seen that before in a paint. I have to buy a better paint to cover up this stuff. Really, I know it says for "rentals" or whatever. But even for your rental property, spend another $10 and get a bucket of actual paint.

Do Not Buy

I bought this to recover an area that was already primed but not painted. Not only did it not work, it actually made the paint color under the previous primer *more* visible.

Thin, runny mess

I bought this paint about a week ago. It was the cheapest price out of all the other Valspar varieties. I only wanted to paint and freshen the trim in my bathroom so I figured that this paint would be good enough. WRONG!!! Even after stirring for almost 10 minutes, I could see that the consistency was very runny, almost as thin as a cup of milk. I lightly dipped my brush and started to paint and the stuff started dripping like water. It ran down the brush and onto my newly painted wall and onto ...

Terrible coverage...three and four coats to cover old paint...would not recommend

Does not cover

My wife and I were repainting our Bedroom from a dark blue to a lighter color. Went with this cheaper option to help cover the existing color, after 3 coats the walls are still dark blue. This paint only gave the walls a "cloudy" look. Now I will end up spending more money for a different white paint. Do not waste your money.

Don't waste your money

I bought this paint to cover up some spots on my walls that where repaired and primed with flat white paint. Now my repair spots are even more noticeable and have a yellow tint to them. This paint is more like elmers glue than it is paint. such a waste of money and time.

waste of time and money

Bought this as a cheaper paint to prime over a darker wall color. Was horrible. After two coats it wasnt even to a solid white color. It would have been better if i bought walmart paint!!!
