Do I still need to do any type of fertilizing?

While the SG Garden Soil does contain some fertilizer, I wouldn't count on it lasting 9 months. During the growing I use miracle gro once a week to feed my olant, fruits & Veggies. The answer is a definite YES. This soil is a very good product. T

Very good practices, consider working the Garden Soil into the top 2-3" of the soil. The organic matter in the Garden Soil will provide food and habitat for the friendly biology in the soil. The fertilizer contained in the Garden Soil that is stated on the Guaranteed Analysis on the back of the bag does provide continuous feed for up to 9 months and there are plants that are heavy feeders that benefit from an in-season side-dress granular application, or liquid. Keep an eye on the health of the plant and if you notice the plant being off-colored, that could be a nutrient deficiency. Also important to fertilizer availability to the plant is the pH, if the soil pH is not in the range of 5.8-7, there is the possibility that the nutrients are not delivered efficiently.
