QUIKRETE® Liquid Cement Colors are only designed to be used as an integral color modifier by blending with the clean mixing water before mixing in with the dry gray based cementitious material. Please note that variations in mixing water amount, mixing time, curing conditions, and finishing techniques will cause color variations. We always recommend trialing a small batch in an inconspicous area and evaluating the color after at least 24 hours of curing to determine if the color is acceptable before initiating full scale project. Proper curing is critical. Failure to cure the colored cement properly may cause the development of an excessive amount of surface carbonation. Surface carbonation will lighten the color of the concrete and result in the color to appear like it is faded. You may call the QUIKRETE Technical Center at 1-800-282-5828 to discuss your project further.
