How many bags of fast setting quikrete for 6x6 post 3' in ground?

Wow, that answer from quikrete is terrible. You would need about 2.5 - 3 bags per hole for a 6 x 6 with proper size footing.
Was this Answer Helpful ?Depends on the diameter of the hole you dug. 2 bags at the bottom and back-fill should hold it forever.
Was this Answer Helpful ?Use one bag. Plenty of strength to anchor that size post at that depth.
Was this Answer Helpful ?When digging a hole for a post, it is recommended that the diameter of the hole be at least 3 times the width of the post. For a 6” x 6” post, the diameter should be 18 inches. Additionally, the depth of the post hole should be one-half of the above-ground post height. Given that this post is described as being placed 3’ in the ground, it is presumed that 6’ will be above ground. For a single 18” diameter hole containing a 6” x 6” post that is 3 feet deep, approximately 12 bags will be required to fill it. This is an estimate, and will vary based upon waste, uneven sub-grade, etc.
