CAN THIS SAND BE USED IN AN ABOVE GROUND POOL FILTER?


Do not use QUIKRETE® All Purpose Sand for a pool filter. QUIKRETE® All Purpose Sand is a coarse, construction grade sand that likely has a wider gradation than required and is not prepared properly to protect the filter pump. Pool filters typically have very specific sand gradation requirements and often require a very tight gradation. You may consider QUIKRETE® Pool Filter Sand (No. 1153), which is designed for use in pool filters and has a typical predominant size range of #20 to #40, or 0.85 to 0.425 mm. The gradation can vary based upon region. Please consult with the pool filter manufacturer to determine any specific gradation requirements for use in the filter.
