This is the 3rd under counter ice-maker I've purchased for personal use in my custom homes. I'm a retired architect and have enjoyed all my ice-makers up until this last one. Yes, they are expensive but I love the ice they make. IThe current ice maker is now 5 years old and not making ice. The previous 2 machines lasted me 11 years (until I built another custom home) and 4 years when I again built another custom home. I have had 4 all replaced within 5 years or less
The icemaker is great when it works, but over a 20 year period we have had to replace them about 4 so times. The one problem is that you get use to the convenience of just opening the door to get ice especially with a big family. I have purchased the extended warranty which they have sent me the $$ to purchase a new machine since they really do not repair them. This lst one was working fine until it notified that a cleaning was due along with a filter change. Completed without a problem however ...

Doesn't last, but good while it does
While it works it is great. Makes good quality clear ice quickly. Takes about 2 full loads to fill a Yeti 50 cooler. It died 3 weeks after warranty expired and Whirlpool will not cover repairs.

My ice maker is now dead
I had this ice maker for over 3 years and it made good clear ice but today it is no longer making ice today :( The water runs but it no longer freezes. I am now going to have to look into getting a new one. I don’t know if i will buy whirlpool again bc i feel that it should have lasted for more than 3 years for the price i paid for it. Buyer beware.

Love the machine
We have had this unit installed since March 2023 and has never skipped a beat! It has excellent recovery when emptied completely. The cubes are crystal clear.

Easy to Install and High Quality
