May also be planted along walls or foundations, and makes for a good plant for massing on slopes to prevent soil erosion. Athyrium filix-femina, better known as Lady Fern, is deciduous, and native to the more temperate regions of North America, Europe and Asia. The erect fronds grow in a circular clump like form.
