Good engine, everything else is bad

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The cut is uneven and it misses a strip down the middle. We actually had to lower the back wheel height just so the grass looks decent. The mulch setting leaves stripes/clumps but the bagger only fills half full. Worse mower we have owned. Must be defective. The front wheel assist doesn’t do much either.

Great Mower

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great mower! Powerful smooth running engine. Awesome blade! Side discharge, bag, or mulch. Does all 3 excellent. Comes with Amsoil for small 4 cycle engines. Amsoil is the King of mower motor oils. Kohler engine mows tall grass with ease! I love this mower.

I recently purchased this mower I have a lot of land that's empty. This mower was able to knock it all down even when it was knee-high in a lot of areas. I put fuel stabilizer and it runs great and starts every time. I will eventually get goats but I will need one to operate for my yard around the house. It's very easy to use my wife loves it. 5-year warranty on engine and 3-year warranty on parts is a bonus.

Don't buy thing piece of crap.

If and when you can get it started, it works great. My previous mower, bought from Costco, would start on the first pull even after months of non-use. I keep tearing the muscles in my arm just by trying to start this piece of crap from Lowes, even by following the instruction manual. It sometimes takes 30-50 pulls of the cord, and a lot of prayer to get it started.

This review is NOT part of a promotion. I'm not sure if this is the same Troy Bilt lawn mower I got several years ago at Lowe's, but the description sounds exactly like it. Maybe things have changed over the years, but my mower is still going strong. I've never had a problem with it. It has always done a thorough job of cutting my lawn. It has never failed to start and gets great gas mileage. Every blade of grass (or weeds) is cut evenly. I've been sharpening the blade myself until now. ...

Consider other options

Have had this mower for about 6 weeks. Should have known this would not have been a good decision when unpacking. While the engine on this unit is really nice, that is about where it ends. the deck on this is so thin, you can see it flex just pushing it on my driveway. No matter the height of the lawn, this mower constantly misses a strip right down the middle of the mowing path.
