It does the job when installed. The flue on my chimney is oval in shape (13x17 inches) and almost flush with the crown. It arrived well packed in the manufacturer's box and fully assembled. I could not use the corner screws due to a flush flue. I got a leg kit and could not install it through the corner edges due to the oval configuration of my flue. I had to improvise and install the legs by drilling holes in the middle of each side of the chimney cap base, as well as bending and partly breakin...

I inspected this chimney cap pretty thorough and for the price it’s a great buy. The only issue though is the quality control. The spot welds are very weak on the mesh screen to the bottom of the cap. When I slid it out of the box I noticed some of it moving on the bottom of the cap. Didn’t appear to be more than 3-4 areas but enough to be concerned because I don’t want more welds to fail. There is a lot to like about it though.
