Right Color for matching an old floor
One of the few mahogany colored products available to touch up some spots on a mahogany colored wooden floor. Not a completely perfect match, but oh so close and fits the need.

Don’t use the mix type. Stain first and then seal.
Very little stain in mix. It never did get dark. Don’t do the stain and seal mix.

Poor product quality experience
I wanted to refinish some cabinet doors with a protective poly coat. The doors had previously used Minwax oil stain (same color). I started with the inside of the doors and was careful to prep the wood, use a good stain brush, and stir slowly. After I applied product it dried very unevenly, almost clumpy. I re-sanded and applied 2nd coat. Same poor result. I stopped using this product and am starting over with the two-step process. Polyshade just doesn’t match the marketing pitch.

Easy to use if properly prepped.
Poly shades was easy to apply with a sponge brush and after 2 coats I achieved the results I wanted.

Not a good choice for me
Review Polyshade After using PolyShades all in one my choice is to strip the oak table and chairs again or trash them PolyShades was blotchy and uneven. Unfortunately, this all-in-one polyurethane stain cannot be adjusted the way regular stain can be. This stuff is impossible to apply without the finish looking as though a 5-year-old did it.
