I bought this about 2 months ago to do a cabinet project and the stain color after two applications was not the same . next time I'm going to go for something a bit darker and probably mix my own

Stirred Not Shaken

The color was perfect and still allowed the lines of the wood to show through. Cost was a bit more than expected but, the product provided the desired color. Did require a spray coating of polyurethane as the amount in the product did not provide the desired sheen on finish.

Great for refurbishing

We bought this to refurbish a thrift store stool that had been painted over and over. With just one coat this brought out the natural colors of the wood and allowed them to really pop.

Great stain and polyurethane sealer all in one.

Minwax stain products have surpassed my expectation for over 50 years of using them. The Polyshades combo stain and poly sealer product has made finishing even easier then ever before using it’s one step process. It saves time and money.

Poor product quality experience

I wanted to refinish some cabinet doors with a protective poly coat. The doors had previously used Minwax oil stain (same color). I started with the inside of the doors and was careful to prep the wood, use a good stain brush, and stir slowly. After I applied product it dried very unevenly, almost clumpy. I re-sanded and applied 2nd coat. Same poor result. I stopped using this product and am starting over with the two-step process. Polyshade just doesn’t match the marketing pitch.

Not a good choice for me

Review Polyshade After using PolyShades all in one my choice is to strip the oak table and chairs again or trash them PolyShades was blotchy and uneven. Unfortunately, this all-in-one polyurethane stain cannot be adjusted the way regular stain can be. This stuff is impossible to apply without the finish looking as though a 5-year-old did it. Right Color for matching an old floor

One of the few mahogany colored products available to touch up some spots on a mahogany colored wooden floor. Not a completely perfect match, but oh so close and fits the need.

Not much of this product is ever in stock

The product itself is great - the lack of stock was the issue. There weren't any on the shelf and I had to order a mini size online.

Covers existing wood stain

Works well over lightly sanded existing stain. But, it is darker than anticipated. It looks black.

Great Product

I used this on pressure treated lumber and it turned out great. Very easy to get an even application.
