LENOX 1/4-in, 5/16-in and 3/8-in OD Tube bender

Good for making long bends only using 3/8.

Small piece off of the back broke after bending 3/8 line during first use. I think it may have been the stop for the handle. Product still functioned but it’s NOT capable of bending short 90’s or making multiple bends in a short distance.

Tubing bender

LENOX 1/4-in, 5/16-in and 3/8-in OD Tube Bender is small and easy to use for copper and some stainless steel tubing. 3/8 OD 304 stainless is tougher and due to the short handles, difficult to get leverage.

POOR DESIGN FOR A BENDER

The grouves holding the tubing need to be about 85 % deep for the tubing to constrain the side walls and force the inner part of the bend to crinkle / wave slightly as the outside of the bend is forced to stretch. The Lenox bender only hold the tubing by about 50 % and this forces the tubing to twist and bend sideways. Completely unsatisfactory. The other enders from other hardware stores like Home Depot suffer the same problem. I bought a good bender on-line at Amazon.

Broke after a week

Only use for very soft copper tubing. Cheap cast aluminum finger that holds tube snapped off first time on some stainless tubing with surprisingly little effort. After attempting weld repair the impurities in casting became very evident.

A functional inexpensive bender

Works pretty well for bending 3/8 steel fuel line. Because of the position of the handle, it won't work for some complex bends but only for 3/8. Did a much better job than a similar bender from harbor freight.

Doens't work on OD

If your looking for a bender for 3/8 OD - IE for a copper refrig coil - this did not work and will cause very bad crimping. Better off finding a higher quality unit or using bender springs.

Good Tubing Bender

This is a well-made and reasonably priced tool. It worked well in making 90-degree bends in soft copper tubing. The package needs info about using the "L" and "R" marks.

After multiple attempts ------

After multiple attempts, I was not able to complete any 90 deg. bends without misshaping the 3/8 tube beyond use. Note: I purchased this bender while out on a job when I had left my usual tubing bender back at my shop. This is not my first time at bending tubing.

Works excellent!

This tool makes nice smooth bends, I bought it to make new brake lines on my classic Camaro and it worked flawlessly!

Not doing what I'd hoped.

Perhaps I expected too much of the claim to no distortion of the tube or I don't have the right touch, but it's not what I'd hoped for so it is going back.
