THIS IS NOT INTENDED FOR MONSTER POOLS! This pump does perfectly fine for 1-2000 gal pools. It only holds 40 pounds of sand. A filter designed for a 25000 gal pool takes 200 pounds of sand!! A sub $200 pump is NOT going to do a massive pool! Quit trying to be cheap, this pump is great for its intended purpose.

if is most definitely not 1000 gph.

it's barely stronger than the 300 gph that came with the pool. There isn't an instruction manual, so you have no idea how much sand to add, and the assembly instructions are horrible. luckily I'm mechanically inclined, so I could figure it out. it's constantly leaking around the seals. I've lost hundreds of gallons of water over the past 3 weeks.

maybe for a small pool

this pump is only 1,000 gallons per hour, it does not work on our 7600 gl pool. Maybe I'd you have a small pool.

I cannot use my vacuum with it and I cannot use my manual vacuum with it. thousand gallon per hour is not enough to run a 10,000 gallon pool.
