Estimating and install process unprofessional and inadequate. Had to hire independent contractor to install 12 custom windows.
Unprofessional install estimates and support
Lowe’s sizing and installation estimates for custom windows is inadequate and unprofessional. Ordered 12 custom wooden windows March 2023. The windows were the wrong size and were reordered three times with the last delivery 8 months later. 3 installation subcontractors came and either did not start or walked off the job because Lowe’s underestimated the installation price by $20k. Customer support was horrible. Do not order your custom windows through them.

Rotted wood, broken blinds, window frames leak
We purchased a Jeld-Wen Steel and Fiberglass full unit French patio door with built-in blinds in the glass doors from Lowes on 5/19/2018, which included installation by Lowes. Model #23577FL22641MSC and Item #191354. The door came in one full unit when Lowes came for the installation. The entire door has rapidly deteriorated over the past 5 years. Poor quality
Ordered this door, shipped quickly with decent protection. Installed the door with their recommended rough openings. This door was a pain to get to latch. With a level sill plate I had to shim the frame up on the hinge side almost 1/4” for this door to even operate. Now that the door swings like it should don’t try and use the dead bolt, I have to shoulder the door for the deadbolt to latch and I can still see daylight at the very top. If energy efficiency and convenience are your goals, these doors are one important way to reach your goals. They are good looking and the blinds between the glass are fantastic. The doors fit very tightly and seal everything out. My old doors were single-pane and leaked all around the edges, but not with these doors. Blinds shift when door is closed.
Door is nice, but when closing the door the blinds shift. I’d have to say the construction of the door is not a quality job. Need to close the shades and reopen them each time to see through the blinds.
