Lesson learned

Purchased a whole house of windows, including 4 of this size in 2023. Tried to open one of the windows the other day and the tiny little “shoe” that holds the 100 lb window in snapped off. The window fell out, cut my hand, scratched my stomach and fell on my husband’s foot. These windows are not safe if that can happen so easily. Changed these windows for more user-friendly ones. Lacks attention to detail

Caulk leaking out around sides of window onto glass; required a lot of cleanup.

not worth the price or hastle

The window locks are far inferior to others and the internal workings broke easily. We've already had to replace one window and will be returning another for the same reason, window mechanics failed.

Buy anything else

The only thing worse than JELD-WEN's products is their customer service. Bought 3 windows, didn't know the part that keeps it open was broken till we installed the window. They don't ask when you are available, they give you a day and time and if that doesn't work, the next time they give is months later. Been trying to get this fixed for 3 months and in the meantime one of the other windows now has the same problem. Stay away from this company!

Would not recommend

I can not recommend these windows. Install is tuff and 2 out of 3 of the spiral adjusters were damaged even before install. Finding out the spirals were broken after the window was fitted and mounted was a slap in the face. Was forced to install because old windows were removed and had no choice. Bringing back to the store was not an option as we had to shave the outside edges to make them fit which was not in anyway effecting the install or operation of the Window.

Good value for the price

I have purchased 5 of these windows. The first 4 were perfect and installed easily. The last one was not so good. I returned one due damage to the window frame and the replacement window has built out of square. Lowe’s was somewhat reasonable on making things right but it took a lot of effort on my part and a lot of time.

Bad Workmanship

Don't buy any of the bronze impact-rated Jeld-Wen windows from Lowes unless you inspect them in store yourself before buying. We ordered three in different sizes, and they are all very poorly made, look cheap, with caulk in places it shouldn't be. They look worse than the windows I'm replacing. Very disappointed.

Don't use in a wood frame house.Order the nail fin

This is a decent window for the price. You're not going to find a lower priced window in this size.and color scheme with impact glass. The dual spiral balance rods that Jeld-wen use leave much to be desired. Taking the sash out can cause the torsion springs to unravel. You need specialty tools to remedy this. Luckliy i have a spiral balance adjuster, but most contractors do not, and have to rely on manufacturers or window service people.
