Not recommended for DIYers
I had this patio door model installed in my house on the TX Gulf Coast, and it survived a hurricane intact. For that reason, I wanted to replace my old sliding patio door in my new house in NM with this one. I did the job with my 12 yr. old son, and I had to redo it since the door could not close. Glass issues
After just 3 years the blinds started leaving a mark between the glass panes. Now one side has a broken seal and I can't get it clean. Disappointed as when the sun shines through them, I can't see past the clouds in the glass.

Not recommended
Outdoor framing has rotted, causing significant water damage to framing and interior subfloor. Seal on bottom of door lasted about 2 months before it peeled off.

Why all the complaints?
Ordered this door on 2/12 and received it on 3/15 and everything from the online order to delivery was flawless. I even had a door sale pop up in between and Lowes refunded without a hassle. The door installed without issue and the blinds worked without problems. Couldn't be happier!!.

Plan on waiting for a couple months to show up.
Took a long time to get and then arrived with a dent in the bottom and multiple scratches. When I said something to them I was told I could return it but then I'd be stuck waiting another 4 months for a new one to show up in possibly the same condition. We couldn't hold our new SFD build up anymore so we just went ahead and installed and will remove and have damage repaired and painted by someone later.

Hinges rust and Jeld-Wen will not honor warranty
We bought 2 Jeld Wen French doors and all 12 hinges started rusting after a year or so. Now they all look horrible. Jeld Wen customer service says, sorry, not covered.

My only small complaint is I wished the manufacturer would have predrilled the holes for the secondary door latches. Otherwise its a great door, good quality!
