GE used to be high quality, what happened???

I purchased this dryer at the Frederick MD Lowes on January 1 2026, and installed it in my laundry room upon arrival. On Monday morning, July 20 (6 months after installation) I went downstairs to retrieve my clean clothes from the dryer, but they were still wet. The drier had tripped the GFCI circuit breaker overnight. I reset the GFCI and restarted the dryer. What happened to GE quality?

Very disappointed with this dryer. I purchased it on January 1 and it now has a dangerous internal electrical short circuit that causes the circuit breaker to trip whenever I try to run it. Apparently this is a common defect for this dryer according to online reviews. To make matters worse, despite purchasing a 5 year protection plan, I must go through GE subsidiary "Bodewell" for the first year warranty claims. Big Back of Appliances Part 1

So far so great.. I haven't used all the features but what I have used has exceeded my expectations. It holds a great deal of laundry and bulk items comforters and pillows have been thoroughly dried in the same cycle.'

Arrived damaged 3 times

Lowe’s manager told me they would not do anything. Ge said they would replace the control panel but would never send the part. Item arrived damaged. 3 different times!!! Still have a damaged item. Dented on the control panel each time. The matching washer is also not working now. Zero customer care. Zero warranty care. Junk machines. Don’t comment “reach out” I already did. Dozens of times.

GE Dryer

Everything I expected this to be, no problems at all. It does seem to dry a little bit quicker than other dryers I've tried.

Drum cracked

Dryer drum cracked through about a month after our warranty expired. It’ll cost almost as much to fix it as to buy a new one, definitely do not recommend

Bought it 3 times!!

I have owned this make and model of dryer 3 times now. The first one lasted me 12 years and had to be replaced. The second one I had to sell with a home after 3 years. When I needed another dryer I did not hesitate one which one to get. They have run faithfully and this newer model so far hasn’t disappointed me. I love the features, cycle choices, capacity, the accurate drying time and energy savings. They are my go to and highly recommend.

Very poor customer service I should been refunded 689$ the other dryer was under Warranty only 3 months old. I also bought a washer and dishwasher. Very dissatisfied with Lowe's
