Aesthetically Pleasing

We are very happy with our purchase. We chose cedar because of the look and the fact that it will last out in the weather. Our project was replacing a fence. It was not the normal run of the mill fence; it has several layers including the double slats. This particular board was part of the final trim. We were able to choose straight boards with no splits. It seemed to take the stain well. The downside was the price, but we like the aesthetics of cedar.

Bad wood

The cedar wood I bought and your associates hand picked is really bad wood and as soon as I can get my oxygen level back up to normal I will be returning the wood..

edges are sharp, not rounded like the pictures

These are "straight edge" 2x4s, meaning the edges are not rounded off. So they're a little less refined-looking, but for my purpose (building a fence), that was OK. Out of the 20 I ordered, four or five had a slight bow but were still usable. All the others were really straight (not perfectly straight, but close).

Reviews are inconclusive

I noticed this product had alot of nothing but star reviews with no narrative explanation of the product. Therefore, in my conclusion, I wouldn't count on any review without some kind of explanation about the product. I also, after looking at every review that did have an explanation about the product it was an excellent to outstanding product ( 4 to 5 Satrs ). Beautiful Results

I make furniture with this wood and I have had remarkable results with it. Yes it is green wood but after planning it down what you get out of the process is a beautiful product.

They hold up over time!

I bought 8 of these these about 10 years ago to build a grape arbor, because I did not want to use treated lumber and I didn't really need 4x4s. I did not sand or paint them, as I like the rough look. They've stood the test of time - grayed nicely, not rot whatsoever! Bear in mind that it takes a while of picking through the pile to find straight ones, so as others have said -- curbside or delivery is not the best option!
