Wonderful product!

I broke my shoulder and had a stairway having no rail to upstairs. Looking at both big box stores I couldn't find a rail that was even close to being straight. And a review of this product mentioned a shipped product wasn't straight either. I didn't have much of a choice so needing two rails I ordered three hoping if I was lucky two might be straight. Well after ordering on Tuesday afternoon Thursday my rails came FEDEX. All three were poker straight....I bought only one sample size paint jar ap...

Great value for the rail!

I just received two of these in the mail and was surprised at the shape, as I thought it was more round, than oval and flatter. It's the exact same shape/size rail as the other 2.25" 8ft rail that is made out of pine, but is $10 less, so I'm thrilled! I would have never known the difference and loved the value. I am installing these in a yoga studio and just paid a small fraction of what a traditional ballet barre would cost.

Pine rail....Better than oak!

This pine rail is one solid piece of wood and can be stained....Straight grain...no knots....dense - I believe Southern Yellow Pine...The oak rails were finger jointed and obviously 'pieces' ,...OK for painting but not the look of real wood. This also was considerably less expensive!

Good Value

It's pine with no knots. I ordered 4 so shipping was free. The picture is not accurate, it's 2-1/4 wide 1-1/8 thick, with a rounded top and sides, not a round cross section with a flat as shown. As for ready to paint, yes -if you include some finish sanding with the paint operation. Overall good value.

Great Product, Great Price

Super-smooth finish and very solid piece of wood. My only beef is it's not sold in a store near me. I had to order by mail and the first one they delivered was so warped I couldn't believe it left the warehouse. Luckily, the store I returned it to is only a couple of miles away.

A good value, the stair railing is solid and cuts vey good with a scroll saw without any splinting. Two coats of paint or stain and it shines!

This was exactly what I needed for our basement steps. It is a heavy wood handrail that arrived in great condition. Price can't be beat and perfect for anywhere you need a handrail.

cost effective alternative

Solid wood that painted easily (Could have been stained ) and looks good. Used extra brackets to make it flex less when installed. Good value railing that met code.
