If you're ready to remodel your kitchen, cabinets are an important part of the renovation. The ones that you select will not only organize your space, but provide a stylish foundation for the rest of the kitchen. We'll show you six different cabinet types to choose from that'll match your style.

Shaker Cabinets

In the last few years, Shaker cabinets have made a resurgence in the kitchen. The classic, clean lines work with modern, modern farmhouse, transitional and traditional interiors.

Shaker cabinets are available in several different iterations at Lowe's.

Shaker cabinets come in numerous colors and stains to suit any kitchen design. Select unfinished Shaker cabinets and you can paint or stain them the color of your choice.

Slab Cabinets

If you'd like a streamlined and modern look, then slab cabinets (also known as flat-panel cabinets) are a good choice. Use these cabinets in modern or contemporary kitchens. Our slab door cabinets are made of hickory or oak with a laminate, painted or stained finish. You can also select unfinished cabinets to paint or stain them the color of your choice. Slab door cabinets are easy to install and keep clean. When selecting pulls or knobs, minimal hardware or no hardware is recommended. If you prefer the no-hardware look, install push-to-open cabinet latches.

Slim Shaker Cabinets

Elevate your kitchen, bathroom and laundry room with slim Shaker cabinets. It's the same look of Shaker cabinets, but with thinner lines that feel modern and clean. The white oak slim Shaker cabinets (as shown) have soft-close drawers and full-extension glides, making them an attractive and functional choice. Choose from finishes in white oak, off-white or moss green.

When you're selecting your cabinets, don't forget the cabinet organizers. Here are a few ideas.

  • Choose from pull-outs that can be used for garbage cans or laundry hampers.
  • Add drawer organizers for spices, cutlery and utensils.
  • Use under-sink organizers for cleaning supplies.
  • Install a pull-out organizer for bakeware and cutting boards.
  • Use a corner kitchen cabinet with a lazy Susan for easy access to pots and pans.

Glass Door Kitchen Cabinets

Glass door kitchen cabinets are a great design feature to incorporate into your kitchen. Here are a few benefits and uses for glass kitchen cabinets.

  • If you have a small kitchen, glass doors create the illusion of space.
  • For small or dark kitchens, the transparency of glass doors can make a kitchen feel lighter.
  • If you have a lot of kitchen cabinets and you're trying to break it up visually, glass doors are a good idea.
  • Show off your beautiful pottery, glassware and dishes with a few glass door cabinets.
  • When you have glass doors, you need to keep things organized. If you're unable to maintain clutter-free cabinets, there's also seeded or frosted glass.

When you're purchasing glass door cabinets, ensure that the doors are soft-close to prevent breakage. You'll also want the cabinets to have fully-adjustable shelves to accommodate your glassware and dishes.

Beadboard Cabinet Doors

For traditional or modern farmhouse kitchens, beadboard cabinet doors are a fitting choice. They have a Shaker frame with the beaded paneling in the center. In this case, your existing cabinet box can be used, while replacing the cabinet doors and fronts. Beaded shaker door fronts can fit standard-size cabinet boxes or you can have custom doors and drawer fronts made.

If you'd prefer to keep your cabinet boxes and just replace the doors, Lowe's has Shaker, slab and glass kitchen cabinet doors also available.

Modular Kitchen Cabinets

Are you adding an outdoor kitchen to your porch, deck or patio? If so, you'll need modular cabinets. Modular cabinets are typically made of stainless steel, which is rust and corrosion resistant, making them a durable choice. These fully-enclosed cabinets prevent your grilling tools and supplies from getting wet, while also keeping out dust and insects.
