Would RecommendIt had been a while since I used anything but water-cleanup paint, just due to ease, but this went on very nicely to prime my bathroom. Best benefit to my eye was the coverage on doors and baseboards. It was thick and creamy and I could “feel” the difference in how it went on versus the top coats of water-based. It was notably stinkier (fumes) than water-based so open windows to air out a bit.

Smell is horrible
Would Not RecommendMy husband painted this to cover up smoke stains and paint from previous owners. We are due to have a baby in a month and a half so we choose to redo this room for his nursery. We usually use Kilz but they were out so we choose this cover up. With windows open, industrial fans with tubes to blow the air out of the room after almost a week it still smells very strong. My husband had to quit half way through the job due to the fumes. After putting a primer over it it still stinks so bad in the roo...
Some finishes soak through
Would Not RecommendWe were priming varnished mahogany-colored doors. We had an issue with a red color soaking through the primer, requiring a couple of coats.

1-2-3 coats needed to cover
Would Not RecommendIt took me 4 different coats to cover old water stains on the ceiling of my bathroom. I should’ve invested in kilz. I’m so very disappointed. I will NOT be recommending this product to anybody. I will be trying to return this and get my money back so that I can purchase a better primer.

Top notch stuff
Would RecommendMy husband has been a professional Painter for over 15 years and this is his go to primer for hard to cover areas, high traffic areas, etc. It always gets the job done, we would highly recommend this product.

It is an excellent base to prime wood trim in a house before finish painting it

Fabulous, one coat will do it
Would RecommendWe are in the process of covering our son’s blood red walls. One coat on two of the walls COMPLETELY covered that bold red. Zero show-through. The smell? Worth it! I don’t think you can attain such a satisfying covering with a lesser VOC/formulation. We opened two windows in the room and are using a fan blowing outwards.
Best Cover Stain Oil Based Primer
Would RecommendThis is the best oil based primer. Any paint job in July is difficult. Taking on the interior walls of a 24 year old garage was a daunting task. Oil based paints and primers are not my thing because of the smell. I had a nasty joint compound rolled finished on my garage walls. After removing it by hand and repairing the wall board as needed, I used this product to cover IN ONE COAT all of the surfaces. I sanded the walls lightly before using two finish coats of paint.
