no better than another coat of paint

I looked around online and in-store at Lowes, and this product was as close as I could find for priming walls after removing wallpaper. I had to fill and skim many areas, as well as cover dark beige underneath removed wainscoting. It takes two coats to cover anything darker than light gray and doesn't offer enough buildup/fill for any real sanding of scratches etc. Perhaps my expectations were too high.

Excellent base coating

Very easy to apply using magnum x5 sprayer that is sold here. Made job go extremely well as a base on old walls, ceiling, wood cabinets. All turned out great.

Ask Lowe's paint specialist about tinting.

This primer is very good at hiding/covering stains from dirt, mold, mildew, markers and rust. Heavily rusted surfaces should be cleaned with wire brush to remove all loose scales and wiped clean to allow primer to bond with surface. Heavier, darker stains may need a second coat to completely cover, however, one coat is usually sufficient and if covering dark stains, one coat will cover adequately "IF" you're applying a Paint/Primer topcoat of paint. we put this on plywood and after several coats it still didn't cover. i had to go buy another product to do the job.

Good, recommended

Required 2 coats to cover darker colored semigloss paint. Chose this one for the price, anti-mold, and the multi-use properties indoor/outdoor. It gets 4/5 because it needed multiple coats (which any other paint might have required as well, who knows) and it looked slightly purple/lavender on my walls.

Might be a good primer but no stain

Used this product to seal water stains in sheetrock but even with two coats, the stain still showed through. It might make a good primer but I haven’t tested it yet.

Almost solid at the bottom, the pale liquid on top

Not sure if I got old product or what was wrong - never could get to better than a consistency of cottage cheese - tried applying and it left what looked like sand in patches on the wall - ended removing it and disposing of it. Will never purchase paint or primer here again. Very bad experience and costly waste of time.

Good quality

I bought this on the way out of the store when I saw that it was on the "this needs to be sold today" shelf. I was headed to a project that I needed two coats and was concerned about actually needing three. I had low expectations because of the low price and I was really pleased. I used a Graco paint sprayer and painted everything in the apartment that was above ground level: ceiling, closets, walls, etc. It was a good color for the ceiling and the closets and didn't need a second coat. ...

Covers well

Covers well. Used on black, blue and pink walls. Will say you will need more than you think but otherwise good product.
