I recently bought this in white, but I thought I should leave my comment here since it’s getting bad reviews. EVERYONE LEAVING BAD REVIEWS SAYING NO SUCTION IS WRONG! So, it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to understand that there has to be air leaving the unit for air to be suction, right?! Don't Buy This!

We purchased this before seeing the reviews. It just has no suction. Like NONE. You are basically buying this to be a light. Whirlpool was kind enough to send a technician out twice, but it's a design flaw, and they don't believe there's anything wrong with it because it is "operating as it was designed to." So we're returning it and buying a Broan.

Poor Airflow

I installed the hood and observed very poor airflow on high speed.I verified the short discharge duct to the outside louver was free of obstructions and it is. The airflow is not sufficient to open the plastic louvers on the side of the house. Even with the fan operating on a table - with no discharge duct restriction, airflow is poor. I hope I am able to return the hood without the box - I threw the box away because I figured the low airflow was related to a discharge duct restriction but it...

Super quiet and does what it's designed to do.

I like the curved design. Perfect amount of light. Easy install. It's very quiet and does move air though not as much as a vented hood.

FAN SPEEDS QUIET? Ya...so "Quiet" they don't work!!!

Bought this for my tenants and just thought they were not used to new high tech appliances! But I was wrong... this fan doesn't move the air at all. You can barely hear the fan change speeds. I buy many fans for my houses.....What the heck, whirlpool????

WEAK

The exhaust fan is absolutely useless. Kitchen full of smoke, smoke detectors going off, have to open front and back doors to my house and set up a fan. I may as well not have an exhaust fan. It's basically just a light over my stove.

Seems most appliances aren't as well made as the 20+ year old ones I just go rid of. Regardless, I tried to save money and bought this hood. You can see up into it when standing at the stove. Hood doesn't look 'finished' at all. Getting rid of it and bought a combo with microwave. Waste of money.

like everyone else I am finding these reviews because I looking up what was wrong with the fan...now I know nothing is wrong with it it just doesnt have any power to suck anything. bought for looks and thought it would be fine because of whirlpool name...looks pretty its just a light for stove now. fan is useless

Super-Weak Fan Suction!

We just completed a kitchen remodel that included this vent hood. While a nice looking product, nice light, and a simple and effective button layout, the fan is barely useful. I honestly thought that there was a product defect and that the fan was broken, until I read other reviews and see that this concern is shared by many people. To give you an example: when the filter is attached, and the fan is on "High", the exhaust is so weak that it barely moves the external louvers on the outside vent! ...

Don't Purchase this hood vent!

My wife and I just recently moved into our home. We decided to start in the kithcen with our remomedeling, and we love whirlpool! So we replaced everything. The oven, dishwasher, and fridge(we're happy with everything). Then we got our last piece(the hoodvent) and were excited to complete our project! It looks good, easy install for the most part. How do you sell a hood that doesnt suck in air....

I just bought my first house.The kitchen had mostly whirlpool apps....so the hood stopped working so I fig. buy a whirlpool hood.I picked one up and put it in, turned the power back on and hit the button...nothing, so I rechecked the wiring took the filter off and turned the power back on. The fan was spinninjg but not to fast. It was working the first time. No noise ,no suction, basically it doesn't work. I feel like I was had. Money's tight right now so I guess I have to live with it for now.....

Don't buy this hood!

I bought and installed this hood today. It looks great, and the fan is very quiet, but it doesn't work! There is no suction. I'm so so disappointed. I wish I had read these reviews before I bought it.

Just bought it already installed but no suction just a cool breeze.

Perfectly Efficient and Exceptionally Quiet

This is a wonderful dependable product at an affordable price. It is also esthetically pleasing and really brought things together in my modest kitchen.
