Ratings & Reviews for Westinghouse iGen1500c Recoil Start 1500 Starting / 1000 Running Watt Gasoline Single Fuel Inverter Generator

Great smaller generator

Great smaller generator in case of power outage or portable power needs for our family. Easy to follow instructions and start up was easy.

Works great

Started very easily. Cord pulled gently to begin running.

More confident with coming seasons

Arrived in the last couple days. Going into the box the way the material is laid out with information naturally guides you to it's first use. First rate product thoughtfully mixed with it's information. I feel like I'm looking forward to the storm. So quiet you can talk over it.

quick start- single pull

Great generator for my 23-foot travel trailer. Starts easily and runs quietly. Very light weight. quality construction. I ran it through the break-in period changing the oil several times. The process of draining and refilling the oil is easy to do. This is a good choice and good value for my travel trailer needs. I strongly recommend this generator.

iGen1500c

lightweight. easy to start. runs smooth & quiet. 30min break-in run @ 10% load on eco mode. will break it in a couple more times before I run it hard. great so far.

Never worked properly

I previously wrote a positive review so that I could get the cover. We have only been able to get this thing actually going 1 time and only with gasoline. Its reasonably quiet and I thought it would work out great but I was wrong. 1- we specifically bought this model for its duel fuel capabilities. We planned on primarily using it with propane. When we tried to test at home it wouldn't work. It appeared the regular was faulty. We called westinhouse and they agreed to send us a "new" regulator....

Perfect for small outdoor jobs

Lightweight and convenient for small outdoor power tools. Perfect for bringing to tailgates also.

iGen2550DFc Portable Dual-Fuel Inverter Generator

Initially I purchased a larger Inverter Generator (130+ lbs), but quickly realized that I would be better served by having 2 smaller, portable units for my RV usage (43 lbs). Reasonable noise level. Also very helpful for home usage during power outages. Quite versatile and convenient. Can be carried back on my property to run equipment away from the house.

Not dependable

Bought 1 after a month it stopped running. Took to a dealer and the factory replaced it. The new one they sent worked one day.Now it stops running after a few minutes of use. Restarts but stalls again after a few minues.

So far exceed expectation

Easy setup and fired up after filling up engine oil. Surprisedly quiet and light weight.

great for the money

great product, Small, lightweight, quiet and relitively inexpensive. charges my ebike great.

good generator for its size

Great product. It does a great job when I go camping to power my electronics.

Miserable experience and 2 days wasted so far

I wanted to run with propane, but tried many times and with two tanks, reconnecting, choke, no choke it wouldn't start. Gas didn't seem to be coming out of the regulator. So next I tried with gas and it ran easily. Except it stops. Usually after 15 minutes to 4 hours. I've now spent about 2 days and 2 tanks of gas. First it seemed to stop only with eco. Then normal mode stopped. I tried running with a loose cap to make sure there wasn't a vacuum problem, etc. Sometimes the low oil ligh...

Affordable & Lightweight

Was looking for a household generator that I could also use on my boat for overnight fishing. I found this one and I can lift it onto the boat myself. Works great!

Great product

Just bought this product starts on the first pull great product

Low sound

We bought this generator for the light weight, but the low sound is a great added feature.

Quiet!

We just used this generator this last weekend for camping a couple nights with our camper. It worked great, and it was pretty quiet for a generator. Easy to use and not too heavy either.

Unclear Return Policy

Purchased this Westinghouse small generator to charge a lithium battery. I discovered the generator run time was not clearly sufficient to recharge the battery. Returned the generator to Lowe's, completely unused, only to discover that it was past a 48 hour return time limit. I am looking to see where that policy is stated, but have not yet found it. Lowes rep stated I could try to return it directly to Westinghouse, but they would most likely not accept it. A very unsatisfactory $350 loss.

Too early to tell

Just Bought it so far so good, I will be using under load soon and will have a review for you.

Portability

Can take anywhere, like camping. Backup power for emergencies.
