Works like it should

Sturdy. Straight edge. Not much else you need from a basic tool.

It Had One Job and Failed.

It's too cumbersome for one person to handle - and even when you flex it into the position you want it, it'll start falling out as you start painting and are holding the guide with your other hand. Then it gets paint on the backside so when you move it you drag paint on the wall or floor if you don't wipe it every time - but even wiping it leaves a residue behind. So you wind up spending more time cleaning up the mess and wiping and don't even get a good line unless the surface you're blocking...

Good but flimsy

This works great with a little patience and maybe a slight improvement. I wanted the 36" length but the support bar near the handle needs to be a little stronger. The shield flexes way too much from one end to the other. It took two hands to hold this straight against the ceiling...good thing I had help. For verticle positions, this worked perfectly with one hand!

Does not properly block paint drippage

Does not effectively work for its intended purpose. Pain gets behind the shield, so defeats purpose of purchase.

Quick and easy

Love the adjustable handle. Also great for cutting in base boards

To flimsy

Once it get a little paint on it, the ends will sag whe trying to cut in around crown molding. This leaves a 1/4 line, between the shield and molding, that’s unpainted. Not good!

Hate it

Professional renovator: the shield is too thin and it flexes, warps, and bows. it is not a good piece of equipment and has about 12" of usable surface.

Great product great price

I actually used this as a paint guide instead of taping off the ceiling. It worked great!

36" Paint Paddle

Debated between the plastic paint paddle as I call it or the metal paint guide. It worked out great for painting my wooden shed and keeping the paint where I wanted it. The metal guide was a lot sturdier than the plastic one. The paint that accumulated on the paddle was able to peel right off after it dried, making cleanup a snap. Love the product. Great value for the money! Phil

Good product... makes job a little easier

This is a good product and helps keep over sprays at a minimum. Can be a little flimsy but works well for the most part.

Painting the easy way

Skip the hassle of taping especially two or more flights up when spraying, easily shield windows, gutters etc. while painting and getting excellent results.

The Edger

Last one I had was plastic this one is metal . The metal one was easier to keep clean from over spray. If you are spraying you need this edger makes the job so much easier and faster. The only problem I had into and this was not the fault of the edger was my ceiling was popcorn texture. So in places where the popcorn was uneven as it met the wall caused me a little touch up.

Best invention ever!

Whoever invented this paint guard was a genius! We have even used it for spray paint. No over-spray at all. The best part is that it covers a large area, so you don't need to keep wiping and moving. In fact, we didn't have to wipe it off at all. No paint accumulates at the edge at all. We have just purchased a home and have used this paint guard in every room, except the very first one that we painted (before we found this gem at Lowes) and boy, what a time saver! Can't recommend this tool enoug...

Great for painting with brush or rolling.

Used for molding around ceiling. Saved a lot of time by not having to tape. Easy to wash.

Shield broke off at handle after only a few uses!

I purchase Alot of products from Lowes exclusively but, after my purchase of your painter's shield I am extremely disappointed and am thinking about seeing what type of products Home Depot or another home improvement store have to offer...?
